I'm 33 and I literally collected when I was 11 lol I got back into it last year some. It was pretty fun, but at the time, Shady Dealings decks were everywhere and I got tired of cookie cutter Arceus/Drizzile. Today's meta appears more of an open landscape of archetypes, which is so refreshing to see... this might be the perfect time to get into it...I suggest downloading Pokemon TCG Online and getting your feet back wet that way.

I think this is the year pokemon will blow up competitively, haven't played either since I was 12 and just got back in 5 months ago and they are definitely trying to appease to a more mature crowd now, very excited to see how it expands even more, I'm watching more and more starting to get into tcg of any kind, the "nerd" stigma will be wiped

Is there any particular reason as to why Tord doesnt take the KO on vulpix with the shining arcana gardevoir? Considering he had just binned his second zacian V, id have thought the play would have been to protect it for the Arc KO? Ofc by this point hes played 60 games of pokemon in 2 days so missplays are bound to happen, if thats the reason.

I was thinking the same, but the casters explained that it was to make Zacian become a "threat" and protect Gradevior ex from being bossed and knocked out by drapion due to its weakness. And ofc at 54:30 Alex already checked and knew that there was no way Tord can play the second Gradevior ex, so if the Gradevior ex was knocked out, the game was done. Tbh, I didn't notice this at all and thought that it was a missplay until I rewatched the game. So I big applause to Tord for playing that perfectly eventhough he lost.

You can take your prizes in any order you want, most people just take them from the bottom though.

@@hollatafool Tord has proven that his aggressive built definitely works, but some choices are debatable. Personally I would run 4 attackers (2-2 single prize gardevior and zacian, or 3-1), and cut down the research to 2

Great games. I don't like how the crowd gasped at the sight of the game 3 prizes. The face down prizes are hidden to the players and any 'gasp/cheer/laugh' gives them information, even though cryptic, that they shouldn't have. Either hide the prizes from the crowd or tell them to STFU

The crowd reaction didn't help either player as both had good cards in the prizes. Also why would you want to tell the crowd to be quiet? The crowd enjoying the game and being noisy adds to the atmosphere. You might as well not even play in front of a crowd if you want dead silence all game
