Whipple Creek park mostly burned down on Sept 9th 1904 and is a prime example of a forest that grew back naturally. Would love to get more insight into the flora of the park. Thanks for your time and effort. Tyler Castle President Whipple Creek Restoration Committee

Great rundown on such a unique grove and species. We are planting 25 of these in March alongside 100 Western Hemlock. Looking forward to your content in the future!

why are the grand firs there? Did something suppress the doug fir/hemlock dominant species?

Should I try growing this species in Ohio? Our summer highs aren't too bad for the Eastern US so I don't think they'll be stressed too much.

Your climate is definitely different. They may grow there, especially if you have other Abies species thriving.
