Nothing like watching Shea Stadium bouncing up and down, when Mark's on that harmonica. Looks like it's coming down, and the cops are like "whadya want me to do?"

Well to be fair mark has been trying to get the band back together but don and Mel won't do it they kicked him out and wrecked the band when they kicked mark out the kicked the life and soul out with him

The Funk will never reform there has been too much s*** under the bridge. They have played thousands of concerts they've done all that they are ever going to do. Unfortunately there is f*** all good footage but we have the live album which was recorded pretty well at their peak.

Thanks for sharing. I never saw this live version of this song. Mark Farner is my favorite front man of all time. They were a great band, especially live.

... igual que muchos, millones de fans de este Grupo, cada vez que descubro un video como este (joya), tocando en vivo, sobre todo esta canción en especial, me hace remontarme a aquellos tiempos en que los escuché por vez primera ... tendría yo 13 o 14 años ... y me enamoré (por qué no decirlo aunque suene cursi?) de ese sonido tan característico de ellos ... orgasmo auditivo y visual verlos en acción ... hoy, a mis 62 años los sigo escuchando (y viendo) una y otra y otra y otra y otra y otra vez ... y así será hasta que me muera ... lo juro! Salud.

It gives me goosebumps to hear the crowd lose it after Mark screams out “making up nickel bags” at 2:05. What a show this would’ve been to see…Humble Pie opening up for the Railroad.

The first concert I ever went to. 1971 Yale Bowl New Haven Ct. YES opened for Grand Funk. I was 16 years old !!!!

I was at that concert. I must admit that being on the upper deck and with it oscillating to the harmonica portion, I was certain we were gonna crash down onto the loge section. I wonder who is in possession of Mark's harmonica after he tossed it into crowd.

Great to feel 14 again. The sound of that $350 guitar has ingrained itself in my brain. No expensive modern guitar can ever top that. Just saying. I almost deserted from the army to go see them in Amsterdam. I still regret not doing that. Never saw them playing live. I had a friend steal the Grand Funk Live, the first one, with the fold out poster in it. He took one record I got the other (and the poster). Even though he wasn't a fan he refused to give his to me. I believe I've killed him and burried him somewhere. O well, that's what true fans do.

Mark is the only one that will do it if the money is split 3 ways. I think he is very reasonable and the other two just don’t like him. It’s very sad❤️🙏❤️

Mark Farner tours as "Mark Farner's American Band". The other two tour as Grand Funk Railroad without Mark and with three other guys replacing him. Have seen Mark's band and it is great. Personally I would not waste my time, money and effort seeing the reconstituted GFR. I just can't imagine these songs being performed without Mark Farner on the stage.
