I can still remember this from 1997. It was delightfully scary, not because of height or speed but the woodiness, rickety feel with inexplicable snatches and lateral jerks. I loved the square wheels with no suspension, and the nostalgic feel of 1930s engineering generally. After that, the Big One felt disappointingly safe. Like going from a Tiger Moth to a 747 First Class. My spine is now fully recovered, my teeth have been replaced and the doctors say I should soon be able to walk ;-)

@@timothywait9457 I’m from the early 70’s and I loved cyclone at Frontierland in morecambe.not fast, not high but you would get hit by nearby branches and if it was a quiet day, they would let you ride round 3 times without stopping. .They even put the carriage on backwards.that was amazing! I’ve now been on icon and I’ll go on it again with my children but it’s not for me really.I’m definitely a woodie😁

I’ve done one, it’s actually this video but it was so rough before the retrack that it’s a terrible pov so I cut it off as can be seen in this. If I’m never able to do another pov I’ll release the full thing at some point.

Even the stability of the Go Pro is being tested to the max on that thing; it’s so rough 😂

Rich S It was a challenge, the GoPro was mounted to my arm so keeping my arm in position was hard work. I filmed continuously but the left track POV was horrendously bad.

I love how tacky everything is, from the wonky railing, to the chipped paint job, to the uneven track and slow belt lift, and even the grey gloomy sky contrasting with the crappy terrace houses which become viable as soon as you reach the top of the lift hill. Ah Blackpool, never change
