I've stayed here in 3 of my 6 trips to Riviera Maya and it's the best resort in the area imo. Beautiful and has everything you want and need. After my most recent trip I won't be going anywhere else

Hello, Turvok, how are the beaches? Is the water rocky and the ocean "swimmable" or is the surf a bit rough? We recently stayed at Bahia Principe and the beaches were very rocky.

@@carlguerin8110 when I went the kantena and colonial had a beautiful beach. That was divided into 3 sections with buoys and rope. One for swimming that was Sandy mostly and nice to walk in. One for sailboat and paddle boards etc. And one for snorkelling thst was all coral and u couldn't really walk on the bottom because of all the coral. But lots of fish. These e beaches were in the 300m (yards) long together I'd guess. Maybe less. It seemed protected from bigger waves from a reef thst broke them. Down the beach towards the other lobby it was Rocky and that's where the saltwater pool was.. Basically a Sandy bottom concrete pool that is filled by waves crashing into it. (it had fish in it too)

@@carlguerin8110 there are large sand 'patches' along the shore, in between the coral which stretches to the shore. Great for paddling, a swim, or a snorkel. It's a great mix between sand and coral reef as you can enjoy the soft sand or see the wildlife over the reef! I've been there ten times and there's only been one day where I couldn't swim in the water because it was too rough. Usually it is calm with small waves.

I only see rooms with 1 King and 1 Double -We have two teens - Does anyone know if the Family Selection Junior Suite Swim Up have a pull out or something to accommodate everyone ?

Not too sure about the family selection but when I've stayed in the Junior Suites, colonial and whitesands, they have pull out beds from the sofas which they make up.

What a shame, you go to a gorgeous sunny and hot locale and your wife is dressed as if you are in Alaska!
