Very nice! A couple friends shoot competition with them. The rotating barrel works well to reduce recoil and accurate. Good grip and trigger. Overall good quality. All deal makers to me. Just a forgotten gun. They use a CZ-75 style mag with a square notch on the front. Owners have modified them to work. They can hold 17 rounds. Open and clean your mags. The follower has an unnecessary horn in the middle which hangs up. Can 'dehorn' it to run smoother. You can look up hacks on how guys found ways to do the break down easier. Good honest review 👍

To takedown, hook your fingers through the trigger guard, use your thumb and first finger to pull the tabs down and your other hand to pull the slide back and up. Reassembly can be the mother bear of frustration IF you don't know how to make it easy. Cut two short sticks from a Q-Tip shaft, pull the tabs down and insert a stick in each side to hold the tabs down. Align the recoil spring and with the barrel fully forward and oriented properly pull the slide rearward and reassemble. Remove the sticks and you're done. I've owned the K100 Mk 7 and now have the K100 Mk 23 which is optics ready. They are accurate, have excellent triggers and have been reliable. They are also outstanding values. WRT the stepped chamber, it wasn't designed to aid extraction. It was designed by Georg Luger for the 1902 "Fat Barrel" Luger to better seal the chamber and prevent the residue blowback common to low powered blowback pistols of the era. It not only seals better but increases velocity and often improves accuracy. It became the standard chamber for 9mm Lugers and is still used today by Walther, H&K and Grand Power. Others may but I'm not aware of them.

Love my GP P1 got about 300 rounds or more through it. Decocker kit would be sweet for my P1 model if I could find one

I think this will be my christmas gift to myself lol I'm a sucker for well crafted, strange knick knacks. Guns included. That slide manipulation sound is something to die for. ASMR material

GBGuns loves his Grand Powers. He’s a Grand Power aficionado. Maybe check out a video of his and he makes the take down look pretty easy, although admits it can be difficult. And they’ve come out with the Mark 23 versions of their lineup. It’s updated with new rotating barrel design and optics ready.

Those K100 Mark 12s are $390 @ Global Ordnance. The new Mark 23s are about $617 I think.

Last Christmas I picked up a K100 X-Trim and fell in love with it. Now I will like to find any Grand Power in 10mm or 357sig if they make a 357sig, not sure.

I have the P1D(midsize 9mm) 9mm),P11D(subcompact 9mm), and P40L(5” 10mm). They have competition guns, 45s, 22s, 9Makarovs… The takedown is simple, once you get the knack. The PX4s take down very easily. RSA/Eagle imports used to bring in Grand Power, Bersa, and Pantera/MAC. The Mk23 Grand Powers are starting to come in. They are optic ready. The mag pattern is Cz75, but Grand Power has ambi mag catch, so uses notch on front of mag, instead of on corner like Cz. Easy enough to mod them yourself with assumed risk. The original police versions are machine pistols with a different sear pack where the safety/decockers are. The decocker models are designated with a D. They don’t seem to be importing any decocker models. I’m not aware that you can convert them.

@@wyominggunproject the machining quality for the price is unparalleled. The shooting dynamics are sooo smoooth. The annoying takedown and lack of aftermarket ecosystem(sights, mags, and holsters) are livable for the enthusiast. This manufacturer is being throttled by its importers. Steyr is in the same boat. Contrast that with the amazing job SDS is doing importing Tisas. Night and day.

Great review! Great gun! Ah, you know me, I'm .45 all day. As for a 9 though, I'd definitely go with that and I would definitely get the kit to make it a double action (personal choice, not everyone's cup o' tea, ya know.) Question. Does it come with a stand, so if I get upset enough and place kick that fucker into the next zip code after failed take down attempts, it won't hurt my foot? 😁

Cool, man! Thanks for sharing. Same deal--there's been a K100 sitting in my LGS for at least a year. Maybe more. And I've ALMOST bought it... every time I've stopped by, for at least a year. I'm a big PX4 fan and I've been wondering how the GPs compare. Sounds like... pretty good. Nice shooting!

Very interesting 9mm that shoots nice to and looks good. I have Tanfoglio 32acp pistol semi auto that comes apart from the back the same way. I had to find a KZbin video on it to get it apart. Thanks for the review, Slim.
