Hope your experiences with this game are enjoyable, unfortunately I never made it around to creating a user-guide install video - Covid and other adventures have limited my video making capabilities. @@zefanjacopini5269 If you don't know how to download then here - www.myabandonware.com/game/grand-prix-4-dwu - Click "Download" and then click "Full RIP Pre Patched English version 512 MB". Once it's downloaded you click extract to "Grand-Prix-4_Win_EN_Full-RIP-Pre-Patched" and after it's extracted go inside the "Grand-Prix-4_Win_EN_Full-RIP-Pre-Patched" folder and in that folder there's going to be another folder called Grand Prix 4 so you go into that folder and double click GP4.exe file and the game should launch. Don't forget that you need WinRar or 7zip to extract the file.

I loved this game so much i saved up for it and purchased it from the UK, I am in South Africa. I wonder if people are still playing it today. I remember a whole modding community making upgrade packs for this game regularly. Its almost like this game was ahead of its time. Its an embarrassment that today's F1 game(2024) or versions before have some things wrong compared to GP4. Engine sounds for one and pass-by engine noises. The TV graphic was spot on. Geoff Crammond, wherever you are today.. Thank you sir for this 🙏

Hey sportscar_no, yeah I use a Logitech G27 and that was pretty much plug and play. I don't have any experience with Thrustmaster and GP4 unfortunately! I'll keep an eye out for any solutions though!

Cheers Eimantas! It's the settings, I didn't have the steering setup correctly - the degrees of rotation were too high - so yeah, it looks pretty chronic through that section haha!

I had forgotten that it takes some time for the pit-in option to be accepted by the game, there is a delay before the crew get ready for the pit-stop. So as I had only selected to pit in whilst being in Sector 3 of that lap, the pit-crew were delayed and I remember sitting in the pits wondering what was going on haha!

Too short 6th and 7th gears! And you have set the more aggressive front and back angles versus your opponents. When I played I used to set the speed as a main weapon not the corners :)

Yes, but it may be dangerous for loss of grip. I think he find a good equilibrated level of setup. But i agree with you about the chance to gain more top speed with a little adjust of rear wing. It's a great game!!! 😊

If anything else fails you can test it with vJoy (a virtual joystick) and Universal control remaper. So the UCR allows you to map the axes and buttons from a Physical device to the virtual one. It worked for me with Battlefields (they allow a single device only) with X-55 stick and throttle.

Wrong setup. When driving on a high speed circuit, you need longer gears. Your 7th gear is a bit too short, which means your engine is revved up to the max at about 337 km/h. Slipstream cannot be effective, since your engine can’t do more. Make the 7th gear longer, also making the 6th and the 5th a tiny bit longer too, and I bet you’ll do 350 km/h with the same setup.
