Not great, not terrible. Have you heard that we're moving back to 6 gears with the 2026 engine rules? GP2 style, baby! GP2 style is back!

Nope :) Tells a lot about how much I follow modern F1. But that's nice, kinda. Back when I played the modern F1 games I really struggled with eight gears, too much for my brain with all the drs and all the other buttons and stuff :D

Very enjoyable watch… I know you wanted more and were disappointed not to get the win. But I still think 78 laps of Monaco requires so much concentration, very impressive 4th place 👏🏼 Thanks for the stream as always TM.

Hello Ted! Great to see you back to GP4! Unfortunately I couldn't watch live nor do I have the time (work duties...) to watch it entirely, unlike Spielberg. I'm skipping every here and then as I watch. But I'm having the best time. Congratulations for the pole position and for an excellent first stint! You seemed always steady and in control. I think it's the first time I watch a long Monaco GP4 and the track is marvellous. I noticed that, in a given lap, you hit the wall twice near Rascasse and (I've said before and I think you agree) I believe doing this late night is an extra difficulty. You'd be even more amazing driving on a weekend morning! But please don't change your timetable if it doesn't suit you, because we get great driving and ... Great fun 😁 You could not pass DC! The yellow flags started at Portier! I guess the game would not penalize you, but you should penalize yourself, if you had success in the overtaking! About not stopping to change wing, come on... These are the Noughties, not the Seventies, and you're not Gilles Villeneuve 😁 you made the right choice to stop immediately, it's the realistic choice. The stream crashing is just part of the show! Wouldn't mind if you cheated, but it was not meant to be 😅 GP4 is amazing regarding AI defending. I did not predict that Villeneuve would defend when you attacked in Mirabeau. Great risk taking from you (for 10th, of course, and like Leclerc did on someone in Rascasse), and great fun 😊 So you attack Villeneuve as he defends, but not Alesi at the Hotel when he keeps open? 😅 What a difficult game to tame! You ended up only 32 seconds adrift? I wonder if you could have got a podium... or even a win... without hitting Villeneuve and the 3rd stop! Amazing pace! Also, agree with you about Alonso and Yoong. It always seems that Yoong is the team leader at Minardi, I wonder if MicroProse just misread those initial data about them... Good job and, as they said in "Super Monaco Grand Prix", "Nice Drivin'! Good Luck"!

Thanks for the comment! Yeah I didn't notice the yellow flags in time. Luckily I got the punishment I deserved, and the hard way :D And yeah, without screwing up with the pit stop and without the second crash I think I could've won it. I'm glad I didn't end up cheating. It's a slippery slope when you start doing that and you'll end up making excuses more and more often.

Without the second nose cone break you might well have still won that, really hard luck. Incidentally in GP4 Michael Schumacher seems to have a special strategy where he goes for a long first stint and a much sorter second stint where he can do a sprint finish. Monaco is a bad circuit to do it as overtaking is so difficult.

Yep, looking at the caps it was still winnable after the first crash. I was too eager to get past everyone after the first incident. Not the first time that has happened, when will I learn :(

Congrats, a well deserved result but could've been so much more! I got a flashback to my own GP2 hardcore race in Monaco on my RetroRacer account, about 80% in I went through to the swimming pool and found about 6 stationary cars! Once you are in the zone around there it's hard to move offline and react even a little bit. I noticed in the final stint you were actually a bit faster than the leaders (looking at the autosave icon every lap), but somehow Trulli was even faster again! Also in the first stint Hakkinen managed to overtake Schumacher! Maybe you should try to record the whole race inside GP4 (if you save just before the end) then you could replay the whole race and look in more detail at some of the incidents :)

Thanks for the comment and sorry for the late answer. I'd actually love to record the entire race but currently my old PC is just and just handling GP4 so I'm afraid putting more strain on it would make it run slow :(

Hey TED, could you do a tutorial on how to run Revs with a wheel ?? I saw the video Jake did on this but I couldn't find the program he used to map the controller, UJR. If you used that same program could you paste a link to download ? Thank you!

Thanks for the question. Actually I didn't use any programs to remap my wheel, I just had to combine the pedal axes and it worked out-of-box. It depends on what wheel/pedals you use but if you're lucky it might work for you too.

@@TedMeat Hey TED, I use a Logitech G29. I did try to combine my pedals on the same axis using the Ghub software but it sill doesnt work. Is the emulator you using BeepEM ? I'm trying to use it. Just enabled the "Joystick" option before trying to emulate the game but the wheel and pedals doesnt respond. Do you have any suggestions ? Thank you!

If a racing driver is allowed to cut a corner, he will always cut the corner :) (The game allows you to cut in the pool section but you still have to be careful, you'll get a stop-and-go if you cut too much)
