Just out of curiosity. How do you get the textures so sharp? I´ve been modding with reshade but even that doesn´t affect the graphics that much. Are there some other ways. Even the car models look sharper and better rounded than in the original

because this is a modded track with high resolution textures and also modded cars with high-poly models

I still have all of them GP1 to GP4 on cd rom still in original boxes. I loved them. Can it still work on a modern Window 7 machine ? How would you install or run them without dos ?

it works perfectly on windows 11, you just need the offical patch 9.6 and the decrypted gp4.exe (check www.gp4central.com). nothing else needed.

F1 Challenge 99-02 is my favourite F1 game, but I always found GP4 looked better graphically (even the vanilla version) for some reason, though they are contemporary and capable of the same maximum resolution... Is there something behind it? Maybe more polygons 3D models and/or higher definition textures? Everything looks "bigger", more defined, more immersive visually... (I admit GP4 is better in some other aspects. Better collision physics, more track activity, etc... I just have more fun with F1C because I play with keyboard and the GP4 assists I need turns the handling into almost an autopilot, and F1C assists leave more room for player's driving. I find AI more challenging in F1C as well, despite their weak first lap). But once again, can someone shed some light about the graphics differences? Is GP4 technically superior than F1C graphically?

Different game engine. GP4 was released to PC only, while F1 Challenge 99-02 was released to GameCube, Windows, PS2 and Xbox and it was a modified version of F1 2002 which was released before GP4.

This game has way more detail that F1 99-02 but F1 99-02 is easier to mod

it's the 2001 CSM Mod by MSchmui24 and the Hockenheim 2001 HD version by Hega. The graphics are also improved with Reshade (www.reshade.me)

Not sure what i did wrong but after applying the Mods the Cars where white.

open f1graphics.cfg with a text editor an set these lines to 1: 1 ; Increase car texture quality (1 on, 0 off) 1 ; Full 32bit textures
