I knew you had this channel for a while, but didn't take much notice of it at first as I expected most content would be about Rolex and other high end watches. That's not until I saw the Street Fighter V edition watches and was impressed by the content and review. I love Seiko watches, but the Grand Seiko 'snowflake' is just simply stunning. Will have to buy one at some point. A very good review keep it up.

It looks even better in real life because the dial actually _sparkles_ like real snow in sunlight. This effect does not show up in most videos because, just like with real snow, in order to bring it up the light source has to be rather small (like the Sun's disc in the sky). So no softbox, just a single naked lamp with its filament/LED as small as possible. I've been eyeing that watch for a while.

GS have the most beautiful dials. For Rolex Yatch master I would prefer to buy the rose gold one with oyster flex. But the silver one is beautiful.

Seen quite a few reviews on other channels about this watch and ofcourse they all say the same about the dial and that you need to see it in real to really appreciate it. But that 1st image yous capture has been the 1st I've went wow!! and reword the glistening snow like image. 👍

Yes. I was about to the same. I was literally thinking something smug bc it was out of focus, and then it snapped in I realized it’s the best shot of the watch I’ve seen yet. And believe me, I’ve become obsessed with this watch. Well done. I still want this watch. Worried I’ll walk in and walk out with the birch though.

@@cheefussmith9380 I've since seen it for real, it is fantastic turning 40 next year and my good lady said if I want she will get me it. On the fence as to let her pay that amount, the WB is nice aswell and many more GS I have a fancy for the blue leather strap blue dial one not sure what it's called, but the snowflake is still the one it's got a more timeless look to it.

I bought the Mrs a Yacht Master, bi-colour rose gold with the. Chocolate Face half way through this year. It’s a beautiful watch, 40mm. She’s a tall girl and can easily carry it off. I think I sent Damian a pic of it back in June. Congrats on your Yacht Master Mr. B.

9:08 you are supposed to open the washi paper and then hold each end and pull up to lift the watch bout out of the outer carton. No need to turn it over to dump everything out. 😉

I am torn. This is a beautiful watch, but for practicality’s sake I would like a GMT as I travel a lot. What do you think of the SBGJ237? I think the colour change of the dial in different lights is almost as exquisite as a snowflake dial…

I was excited to see this in a dealers store but was disappointed as it just felt too light. Perhaps over time the wearing weight becomes a positive feature but the lack of heft made it feel cheap. No getting away from the dial, the finishing and of course the spring drive. These features are what makes GS stand out. In saying that, comparing this side by side with the White Birch, there was only one winner for me, and although the white birch is more expensive, it just seems like the more complete offering. Each to their own in that respect, however we can all agree that GS are making some really good moves within the space and future releases will be watched (no pun intent) with great interest.

Watches shouldn’t be for collecting/investing. If something’s only function is to exist and maybe be displayed then yes that can be collected but things like watches should be purchased because you appreciate the mechanics and design of the watch so much that you can’t leave it in the watch box but feel the need to wear it

Isn't the silver on the dial, going to tarnish over time? Like silver-ware that needs polish/cleaning because it goes a dirty grey colour. I mean I doubt that will happen because Seiko would have a disaster on their hands. Plus the previous generation from 1999 onwards would have been affected by now. I guess I am asking does anyone please know, how have they made the silver plating dial to be tarnish free?

If only this thing wasn't hideously big and bulky. If it was a decent size, it may have been the best watch on the market.
