What about wearing this on a large wrist such as 7.5 inches? Doe sit look small? I know it says 40 mm

Why Rolex never celebrated the anniversary of some models like the Airking ?
@Romio6667 күн бұрын
I asked my Rolex AD and they assured me that Mark2 is also “the anniversary”. Mark2 was released for two reasons: 1- it’s unfair for the anniversary to miss on the upgraded movement 2- The bracelet of Mark1 was too thin for this chunky watch and it was a design mistake. What do you think ?! 🤔

I told one fellow youtuber of yours that the underdog melon was crap (to paraphrase)--he did not agree much... If you have watch money to spend for a single season or you are the type of person who can pull of Hawaii/Bowling shirts for one consecutive decade, they are great. If you aren't, they aren't. They are a statement piece, don't bespeak class or give away a conaisseur, and they are loud. If they fit under your shirt, please, keep them there. If you like independent watch makers--I really like Lorier. Still expensive for what they are, but made very well and with abundant knowledge of the history of iconic watches. PS.: The idea that nobody cares if you wear a Rolex is definitely true, and I love it for just that. I appreciate the case, the movement, the bracelet. And nobody cares. It's like having a display caseback--nobody cares except yourself.

I actually prefer the Roman numerals over hour markers or diamonds. Day date watches are just breath taking. Where ever you go people respect you when they see you wearing one.

Thank you for diving into the depths of the current doxa operations. Its precisely that kind of information that is important to watch enthusiasts like myself. Not that it takes away from my appreciation for this brand, but it does change the story and history of the brand. This now makes me also want to buy a vintage doxa, just to come full circle :D

Doxa design is special and classic. Just sad a lot of copies have come out with very identical looks. Also wondering why they haven't sued these brands and thar there is no copyright for the designs.

I own the previous model Platinum dial Rolex with the red second-hand. My idea at the time was to replace my first Rolex, a 90's model black Submariner date, which, I did eventually sell because I noted that every man seems to buy one of these as his first Rolex. The Platinum version is rather blingy and dressy. Of course, the slate dial and the blue dial versions were not on the market at the time I bought mine. The watch is like having a Daytona case, which lays flat, but with the movement of a Submariner.

This really isn’t surprising or all that different from the majority of major brands operating today. With the exception of maybe Rolex and a few other independent brands, every brand has exchanged hands so many times it could be argued they are all “exploiting” a historical name with no real ties to that original product. What matters to me is the end result, how the watch feels and runs long term. While I could criticize doxa for quite a few things at their price point, I don’t think they offer any worse value than their competitors. You would probably be saddened to know brands like Omega, Breitling, Tag Heuer etc all outsource production of various components to China. It’s just the manufacturing game in this century. And considering how parts like cases, dials, hands, movements, and bracelets were shared amongst brands during the “golden era” of watchmaking, it’s really nothing new either.

As it turns out, the Orange being legible under water turns out to be nonsense. Everything turns grey, it's the lume you need. There is a lot to unpack here. First of all, pretty much anyone that produces anything has outsourced some part of the production process to China. Second of all, Switzerland is one of the most industrialised countries on the planet. In fact, the Swiss watch industry once started because they were producing cheap knock-offs of English and French watches, and after Waltham invented factory-based watch production, the Swiss went there with abandon. If you look at a Rolex or an Omega, the amount of hands that do anything is disappointing at best. Lastly, whether it's Omega that became a part of the Swatch group or IWC, Cartier, TAG Heuer, A. Lange & Söhne, and every reputable brand in the business being owned by a luxury conglomerate or investment group (Richemont, LVMH, Partner Group AG), or if we are talking about resuccitated brands bought up long after the original went bankrupt.... Doxa isn't doing anything the entire industry is rife with. You want to put it like that, the only "honest" brands among the well-known bigger houses are Seiko, Patek, Rolex, Citizen and Audemars Piguet.
