Take this from a collector that has a GS and loves their watches. However, there are no-brainer moves by GS that would spike demand of their watches if only they would get out of their damn way. 1. Stop making your lug width 19mm for cases 40mm and bigger. That ratio makes absolutely no sense and when I attempt to put on 19mm straps on my 40.5 mm GS, it looks OFF and not proportional. 2. Improve the clasp of the bracelet (e.g. Rolex oyster clasp) 3. Taper the damn bracelet! seriously, if you're trying to distinguish between your regular Seiko offering, this would be a big deviation. 4. Add a micro adjustment of .5-1.00 mm on the bracelet (e.g. rolex oyster clasp) 5. ALWAYS provide a clear case back, which provides huge utility and value to the consumer. My GS does not have the clear case back and I Lament that I can see my spring drive. 6. Clear confusion of your collection/lineup by giving the collections clear names instead of in-house designations such as SGBA, etc. #grandseiko

Hello, I am researching my next watch and GS with spring drive is moving me a lot, would you consider these watches sports watches / overall casual pieces? (SBGA 201 / 203 / 283 / 285 / 373 / 375) the main difference between these models is their size (39mm - 41mm) and only the 373/375 have an open case which after reading your comment is the way to go. do you have instagram for me to see how you have dressed up and down your watch? Thank you!

Charlie you are spot on, I love Grand Seiko but the lugs just look weird to me. Also adding an oyster style clasp and clear back shouldn’t be too hard and I’m sure most people wouldn’t think twice paying a little more for these.

Simply Stunning. Dark Blue Dial works very well with Blue, Grey or Black attire or suits. Great Segment as usual.

How can you not respect and/or want a GS? Spring drive is nice and especially excellent with the linen dial, but I love the chrono. Thanx Mosso, you made me smile. 👍

Now that’s the business! Overall my favorite watch on the market with my favorite movement. Mechanical soul with quartz accuracy, can’t get any better and with my favorite dial color too! And I love power reserve indicators, this nearly has it all. My only caveat is a lack of Lume which would of made it perfect for every situation. These watches should be going for Rolex prices...new and used!

Th Grand Seiko sunburst gold is far better than any gold I've seen, and it's hard to describe the beauty until you've held it in your hands. The quartz version watches have a cheaper finish on the dial but the SBGA201 or SBGA273 has a FANTASTIC luxurious appearance.

I do like this watch, but I dislike when blue dialed watches appear black in many lighting situations. That's not a positive; I buy a blue watch because I like/want it to be blue.

What’s even more absurd about GS’s value proposition is that you can get this bad boy NEW for a hair over 4 grand if you know where to look. For this level of quality at this price point I can forgive the issues that some folks have with the brand. The bracelet isn’t on par with Rolex’s, but then again the fit and finish of Rolex isn’t on par with GS.

Great video! Is the date wheel truly blue or is it black but blends well with the midnight blue dial?

i've been hoping they would do a non-limited run of the 44gs case. I owned a Vintage 4522-8000 grand seiko for a few years, i always regretted selling it. Getting parts was always hit or miss. Hopefully i can pick this piece up this year.

@@gmshadowtraders i like to change things up and i was worried about keeping it running long term. when i owned it, GS hadn't "Blown up" in the US yet. Now that GS is in america and has service centers, i wouldn't mind own a vintage piece. It still remains one of my favorite pieces i have owned.

I don't think you could go wrong either way. My personal preference would be that limited USA edition with the light blue dial (even in preference to the Snowflake). If it were between this and the Snowflake (and the price difference wasn't a consideration), I'd have to go with the Snowflake. Part of that is I have a nickel allergy and wouldn't have to worry about it with the titanium. I wish they'd do more titanium watches, but I know it's hard to work with.

Had it been a manual wind movement with the power last display put at the back and with out the dat window, then it would be the perfect watch at any price! Oh one more thing by the way, the buckle should be flush mounted!!

@@Jabber-ig3iw Sort of 😃 Somehow I find it difficult not to think in terms of what can be improved for my taste. I happen to do it for cars and other material objects as well. It has its upsides as well as downsides. The main bonus is that it prevents sudden inspirational purchases which will later be regretted.

15 seconds a month does not seem to be very accurate. I would be taking it in to the shop if I had one that was gaining or losing 15 seconds a month. I will bet that they are much better than that!
