It was a different breed of game then . Organised chaos Lineouts used to be a complete lottery in the past 😂 Scrums were glorious. Barely 20 seconds from scrum being awarded, players run over, engage and ball in and out the back and on with the game The Same Frenchmen lands two punches on separate occasions and it’s a penalty and they carry on

English man here, watched it on the TV aged 21 as a neutral, Nope, average refereeing, but the French indiscipline at crucial times was atrocious, France could and should have won with so much flair and pace, Sella, Rive and co. all great players though ;)

Scotland were the best team that year and deservedly won the grand slam. They outfought and outplayed France, simple as that
