I’m no professional, but my guess, maybe the Stove piping isn’t long enough to create a vaccume for this stove?

Had the same problem but it was mainly because my chimney wasn’t 15 feet. Called mr heater and they also gave some tips. Said to make sure the white blanket is flat and not scrounged up, ALSO make sure it’s all the way pushed back so that the front is flush with the first secondary combustion chamber . Then they said to make sure the “L” bracket in the front is clear from anything and push the stove bricks away from it slightly since the air comes through the small hole. My stove rips now, so just make sure chimney is long enough.

We love ares, never had a issue. Burns all night. One thing we did was added the fresh air kit and a blower. Big difference

Nothing wrong with the stove. You have to have exhaust pipe on it to draw air into the firebox. Buyer beware ha. Maybe get an idea of what you’re doing before you make a video.

Hello I to have the same stove and encountered the same problem what I figured out which makes the unit work wonderful is to take a couple steel washers and take the ash plug from the bottom prop up the ash plug on about 3 to 4 steel washers allowing a crack to be between the ash plug in the actual floor of the woodstove it’s just a tiny crack but it allows air to come from the bottom and greatly improved performance of the stove try it you will not be Sorry

You need more draw from the chimney it will eventually catch I figured the same thing keep the door open a little for air but that’s what the pipe inlet in the back is for

o I bought one because of the positive reviews, and great price. 499 for the smaller of the two units they sell. Found the only one in store near me and avoided the 180 dollar deliver charge. My question is HAS ANYONE FIGURED this problem. I am doing the first burn now outside and the air flow just does NOT exist inside the unit When door is shit.. Fire burns ok when door is ajar or cracked. But immediately dies once latched (even with open secondary) Any hello would be appreciated. I will be calling Mr Heater Monday. I love this stove, and if a couple well placed drill holes are needed. I may have to do that.

Did you have exhaust pipe attached to this stove when burning outside? You usually need at least 12 ft of exhaust pipe to draw air into the firebox.

Nothing is wrong with the stove i don't think burning wood is for you switch to gas

Yup no draw, no fire. Hmm pretty much this way sence wood stove have been around. Yes today stoves run a little different, but you got to have enough chimney, old or new.

You have to have draft for the stove to run. Draft is created from a chimney. It's like the engine for your stove. It should run better hooked up to you chimney.

We realized the only way for the air to flow properly is to remove the ash cap and leave the drawer in to catch the ash

I have that exact same stove and what it does. It tells you when the instructions to leave the door ajar until the flames are high on the wood and then what it does is. Once you get a lot of holes you close the door it's gonna choke things out a little bit, but that little damper does work. But once the coals are on there, that's when they start generating a lot of heat and it will run me out of my house. It gets so hot and I've had a lot of woodstoves in my life too. It seems to work a little differently. But that's what the instructions say, and that's what it seems to do.
