GRAND UNITY 天下大同 - traditional Shandong zheng music

Grand Unity 天下大同 is a traditional composition created upon the baban or eight-beats. It adopted the vocal style of qinshu, a narrative song of Shandong in Northern China; and the style is reflected through the left-hand bending strings on the zheng, a multiple-stringed long zither. The title suggests that the eight-beats was so well known that it unified the universe.
