Grand Wagoneer Transfer Case Removal

In this video we will be removing the NP229 transfer case. These are a pretty rare case but removal is straight forward. You don't even have to remove the transmission tail shaft cross member. There are 2 shift levers on the left side of the case. One is for High/Low and the other is for 2WD/4WD. We needed to remove the case because the seal on the adapter housing from the transmission was leaking. This is the second of many video's on this project. We will be working on it when parts are available. As mentioned, the NP229 transfer case is really rare. The are a very strong and rugged case. While you can get most of the parts you might need, it incorporates a viscous coupler. This part is available as "used" if you search long enough. Well, lets cross that bridge when we get to it.
