The members are (from Wikipedia) Yukina - harsh vocals, clean vocals (2015-present) Matsuri - guitar, clean vocals (2015-present) Hettsu - bass, backing vocals (2015-present) Chika - drums (2023-present). Sae was the drummer in this MV but left. Yukina, Matsuri and Hettsu all met while attending the same middle school in 2014. They call their style "Harajuku-core" after the Harajuku ward in Tokyo which is a center for youth fashion and eccentric style. They started out as cover band doing Maximum the Hormone songs. MTH is also known for their heaviness and originality. MTH has a woman drummer, Nao, who inspired the drummers Akane of Band-Maid and Tamu of Nemophila. Hanabie (Ha-na-be-ay) literally means cold flower but is used to describe the cold weather that happens in spring time. They have been touring a lot, US, Europe and Australia. They will be doing 6 European festivals this summer, including the Download Festival in the UK, Jun 14, and the Plane'R Fest in Lyon, FR.

To me (and a lot of J-metal fans) the Big Four of Japanese female metal and hard rock are Lovebites, Nemophila, Band-Maid, and Hanabie (Babymetal, too, but they are such a unique thing that I consider them a whole separate category)! By the way, that is pronounced "ha-na-be-eh," with four syllables. The Japanese language does not have diphthongs like "ie" being pronounced "ee," but instead each vowel is pronounced separately, so "ie" becomes "ee-eh" (with the final "e" sounding like the e in egg or net). They started out in high school as a Maximum the Hormone cover band (another band I highly recommend), then branched out into doing their own originals. They've gone through several drummers, with Sae (the one in this video) leaving in early 2023 to be replaced by the current drummer Chika (who can be seen in the "Tousou (Runaway)," "Be the Gal: Early Summer Ver," and "OTAKU Lovely Densetsu" videos.

Hanabie just toured Europe & the U.S. last yr and have been blowing up. They are known for their genre flips, time changes, cool transitions and heavy riffs (often behind "cute" vocals). They started out in high school doing covers of a band named Maximum the Hormone, who is also known for the same crazy and amazing song structures. Dive deeper they are fire as is the Japanese metal/rock scene as a whole. Nemophila, Band-Maid & Lovebites are other all-female bands who are incredibly talented. Lovebites is the best metal band to come along in decades IMO.

Welcome to *Harajuku-core!* ❄🌸 Hanabie (ha-na-be-eh) have been in the game since jr. high. The start of 2023 marked the rise of this bands star when the song 'Pardon me, I have to go now' went viral on social media. It's been only up from then on. They singed with a major label (Sony), completed a world tour, recorded a cover of 'Believer' for a TV OP theme, surpassed 100,000 subs, and acquired a new kick ass drummer in Chika. They just released a new single/video 'Otaku Lovely Densetsu' a few weeks ago. Please, have a look.

You could react to a band called Asterism. A japanese trio who play mostly instrumental. "Church" (live in studio) is a good song to start with.

Welcome to Harajuku-Core!! Hanabie, (Hah-knawby-eh) are more anti-idol than some groups but they are definitely unique. Be sure to check out "Reiwa Dating Apps Generation", "Pardon Me I Have to Go Now", "Tousou", and "Be the Gal" early summer Ver. You won't be disappointed. Hope to see more soon

Hanabie is refreshingly different. Sweet as sugar and brutal at the same time, which shouldn't really work, and yet it does so damn well. :) In my opinion, quite rightly Japan's hottest export of last year. 🔥🤘🏻 This was certainly the song that got the girls some attention, at least outside Japan. With 'Pardon me, i have to go now' the rocket really took off. 🚀 _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. And now, Japan has perfected it."_ ※ Band-Maid ※ Gacharic Spin ※ Lovebites ※ Nemophila ※ East of Eden ※ Hanabie ※ Asterism ※ Trident ※ etc.

My 1st concert was Maiden 1985 with Accept opening. Saw Hanabie in a small club in Des Moines during their USA tour September 23. They blew the top off the place incredible performance, sound, stage presence, tiny Yukina crowd surfing. As much fun as I have ever had at a show.

Don't worry you are not too late to the party, they have only been on an overseas tour once so far. They are going back to Europe again this year. They will be at the Download festival on the 14th of the 6th so....well worth going to see them (along with plenty of other great bands).

They just dropped a new MV for a song called Otaku. (I see that already did react to it!) Or check out their classic, Pardon Me, I Have to Go Now, next!🤘
