In this video we leave our park up and make our way to Gold Beach , one of the British Normandy landings on D-DAY. There are some remains of the Mulberry Harbour that were constructed by the troops after a beachhead was secured on 6th June 1944.
Before we get to Gold beach, we have a brief visit to the British Normandy Memorial.

@@stevescott245 that’s fantastic. We timed the tide wrong. Hopefully we do go back, we will check the tide times so we can get close up to it. Thanks for watching and your comment 😊

Just found your channel and subscribed. This was interesting as we are justxback from Scotland and visited Garlieston which has a connection to the Mulberry Harbours as the area was used to trial and test different designs before the final design was decided. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

@@CampervanTalesHey thank you for your interesting comment. We didn’t know about this connection between Mulberry Harbour and Scotland. Believe it’s near Wigtown? Is that right? We were there earlier this year and I’m sure we will go back. We will be going back to Scotland after these France/Belgium videos have all been released; there are quite a few more to come. Thank you for watching and for your support, much appreciated 😊😊

It was amazing to see where the Allied troops established a beachhead and then The Mulberry Harbour remnants to consolidate their position. Much much more to follow…
