Last night's dinner's love bugs here on the South Shore of Nova Scotia were the biggest ones yet, around 2.5 lb each. I had ordered 1.75-pounders but got more than I bargained for. We found them for as little as USD $6.76/lb on PEI. I should be getting my fill of lobster right around the time that we make it to the mid-Atlantic for the steamed blue crabs and crab cakes. 😁

My husband and I follow your show, we love how you give so much good information about the area you are visiting! We were so excited when we learned you would be going to Montreal! My husband is from there, originally by way of New Brunswick 😊 We go every year to visit family and friends and for the last few years we go in our RV. It is so cool to see you visit our stomping grounds. We you headed to Quebec ♥️ our favorite, we loved that too! We love the Gaspe area! We are curious to see if you stay where we do in Perce, it is fun for us to learn new places to stay as well! Thank you!! ♥️

Thank you very much to both of you! That Percé episode we put together for next Wednesday may well be our best episode yet, and it's a full hour long simply because there's so much to see and do there. We're now down in your husband's home province of New Brunswick. After spending 4 nights on Miscou Island we're now spending 3 nights in Kouchibouguac National Park before leaving Sunday for PEI. We'll be returning for one more week in NB next month at the Bay of Fundy before crossing back into the U.S.

Gaspesian here. Historical note: Cap-Chat was a military post during WW2 and served as a lookout point for German U-Boats hunting supply vessels leaving for England. There was a small airfield for plane spotters as well as coastal posts. Very important during the Battle of the Atlantic.

Marc, now you are in my stompin ground :) Both my wife and I grew up in the town of Gaspe. We have family in Sainte Anne des Monts as well. I love your coverage of the area. Looking forward to next week as well, as Perce was only 45 minutes from my home while growing up. Very interesting part of our continent actually. Very unique climate, geology and geography, and of course some amazing history, as the town of Gaspe is where Jacques Cartier landed in 1534. I truly hope you enjoyed your time in "our" area and continued safe travels. If you have not yet reached Bathurst yet, let me know, as we always are ready to enjoy a good meal and a good beer right here.

@@GrandAdventure Ah Miscou is beautiful as well. Although I guess you are sharing the rain with us this morning. You will enjoy Kouchibouguac without a doubt. we spent a long weekend there a couple of weekends ago, and get down there pretty much every summer for a few days. The South Kouchibouguac campground has some excellent sites with Full hookups, and also a nice selection of electric only sites. Our favorite site in the park though is over at the small Cote a Fabien campground...site 3. No services there and no shower facilities, but beautiful. Our trailer barely fits in, but it does...will be back on that site in late August for a few nights. If you are in Kouchi for a week, perhaps I will drop by next week and say hello, as it is only about 90 minutes from here.

How were the mosquitoes at the ocean campsite and water? How big was the Golden Corral Moose? any kayaking at his location? Nice to see a summer spot which requires coat to stay warm
@GrandAdventure3 ай бұрын
The mosquitoes weren't unbearable at all, Thomas. That moose was an adult cow laying in the brush, and had a calf with her that you couldn't see. Lots of kayaking, but most of the salt water spots were a rather monotonous shoreline. The exceptions were the river mouths, and there were plenty of fresh water options in the mountains like Lac Cascapédia that would've been far more interesting to paddle. Most of Atlantic Canada we've visited this trip remains comfortably cool in summer. For example, on PEI (our episode in 2 weeks) the average daily high temp in July and August is 73 dF.
