@Khai Dinh no his pieces are not nightmares, they are nightmares to the people who just can't stop procrastinating and can't stop making some jiberish excuses for not practicing for music. Hmmmmm, can one of those people truly be you then? Or are you simply saying his pieces are nightmares because they sound like that? Well, guess what? They don't. There you have it. It seems normal to people like him such as Liszt, you however? Well, haha.....you are nothing like them, you have not experienced the amount of hard word, the suffering, the practicing, the failing and climbing the steps to success, no you simply have not. Well, I hope I made your day by telling you the truth about your life! Now go make something out of it, before it continues uselessly and ends like that as well! Go on, get off your phone you lazy ass and go practice now!

Brian Bernstein That would likely be implausible, since visual-presented music technology (synthesia for example) came much much later than the Chopin's era. I refuse to believe that it was his intention, but...who knows? May be he was the true miracle or some sort. Music is magic anyway...

It probably takes a few listenings to get used to this piece (or any other piece, for that matter). Originally, this was a composition for piano AND orchestra, so this transcription (by Chopin himself) for solo piano is even more virtuosic than normal. A grand show-off piece, made to blow the audiences minds away, not only with great romantic musicality but with exceptional pianistic technique as well.

As a person who played ballade 1 and Rachmaninoff's prelude in g minor, chopin's winter wind, revolutionary and many more, this is easier. People always make a mistake thinking this piece as hard but it's actually very manageable. It rarely strains the hands and there are no overly fast parts like ballade 1's coda or prelude in g minor's beginning. Also people said that ballade 4 and scherzo 2&3 are easier than this, was a complete lie. All of those are harder than this. The only reasons I can see why this is hard are either you can't reach a tenth which might be technically difficult for you, or the ending. God the ending is hard to play perfectly. The whole beginning and middle portions are exhausting then the ending is more exhausting. But like I said, I'd prefer to play this over most of his etudes and ballades, that's how easy it is.

Yep. Pretty difficult though. If you want something insane, try the Mendelssohn/Liszt piano arrangement of the wedding march, also known as the Midsummer Night's Dream march.
