Oh yeah, sometimes with linked plumbing systems if you use a household item that uses cold water like a tap for example, and there’s someone using the shower, it will actually take some of the cold water from the shower, making the temperature of the shower hotter. This also happens in reverse, if you’ve got two hit showers running at once, they’ll be taking hot water from each other and making each other colder. If you don’t have any cold water on in your hot shower, though, then turning on a cold tap will not impact the temperature.
@boingyboop4960Ай бұрын
The best way to avoid getting burned in this way is if someone in your household is showering, and you need to turn on a tap or another water-using item, knock on the bathroom door and warn the showering person to step out of the water for a couple of seconds so they don’t get burned.

Two Words: COLD SHOWER!
@JillBitzАй бұрын
How Dreadfully Sad!!(( This should have NEVER happened 😢
@SunnyWuАй бұрын
When I'm at a hotel, I will always turn the shower to the hottest and let it run for a minute BEFORE checking it with my hands, adjusting it, and getting in. Thought it was common sense. Not only do I not get hit with the freezing water that was in the pipes, but I also don't get burned.

Why wouldn't he test the temp before getting in?
@JoGoStudiosАй бұрын
Showers shouldn't even reach 150 degrees to begin with. Also, always adjust the temperature to your liking before you get in the shower.

Who doesn’t check the water temp before stepping in?
@TouchSoToxicАй бұрын
not for nothing cant you stick your hand in and check first... or you know get out if you feel it warming up to much?
@John-Smith02Ай бұрын
Or you can say that you never watched the video. He was already in the shower, and he slipped and fell. And sometimes flushing the toilet can make the temperature rise within seconds.
@robertoreal1117Ай бұрын
I'm a plumber and this home owners always move the temp at water heater to 150. I explain to them why we leave them at 120.

130-125 degrees is when the heat starts feeling painful (experience from a hot balcony in arizona with a thermometer) also just check the water temperature with your hand before stepping in. why can people not use common sense these days
@whiteeagle8140Ай бұрын
Why cant people watch the video, and or pay attention to it, if they watched it. Because then you would have known, the manwas already in the shower, and the water got hotter, then he slipped trying to back out of it.

I hate cold showers but if it gets over 95 degrees that's when its gets unacceptable. Exactly why you check the water with your hands first

My shower has a control system where one side of the on button it controls temperature and the other side controls flow of water. This type of showers should be what these lodges should be using.

He died from falling and getting burnt and not directly due to hot water burns
@tammyrawdon3587Ай бұрын
Way to contradict yourself... didn't you see his legs?!? His body couldn't handle it and he could easily have gotten a secondary infection or sepsis.
@TechClickedАй бұрын
I feel sad for what he went through at this age. I sympathise. Humans wouldn't be able to bear that hot temperature and the normal instinct would be to back off immediately. This old gentleman instead fell down, maybe while backing off, and later suffered due to hot water burns. @@tammyrawdon3587
