Grandfather Mountain Winter Hike - 5 Mile Cragway Loop

Keena and I hit Grandfather Mountain in late January for a walk in the snow. Our path started at the Asutsi Trailhead on Hwy 221, took a left on Tanawha, right on Nuwati, left on Cragway, left on Daniel Boone, left on Tanawha, and right on Asutsi. This is one of my favorite short hikes if I'm limited on time - which we were on this day. The snow made for a fun adventure. Keena's full pack is for her Appalachian Trail thru-hike training. Thanks, Jim. Grandfather is one of my favorite places on Earth. Cragway is such a scenic trail. I was glad to hit it in winter for the first time in ages. Keena is very excited for her Thru-hike. I’m going to love seeing her follow this dream through.
