I'll go into powerscaling a bit: I've seen enough combat sports to know that experience can mean so much more than anything else. If you're 78 and have been fighting at an elite level since the age of Young there's a good chance you'll be able to fight circles around most people. Even in your later years your creativity can exceed your limitations. Irl though, the one thing that regularly trumps skill is size. Look at Bob Sapp and tell me that it doesn't matter ever lol

rayleigh and rogers story always strike me. in a world filled tragic people who had their entire characters shaped in a great misfortune or life changing event, you have these 2 idiots, normal and filled with ambition. one that lead them to the top of the world this is especially to rayleigh. can you imagine just having a normal day, annoyed you lost your house living on a boat and the next you have explored the world, fought creature beyond your understanding, face talented and gifted opponents, mastered 3 types of powers and discovered the truth of the world. fate was picking favorites at the time

The "Dark King" was literally the guy who could have became the next Pirate King from the darkness (behind the curtains), but he chose not to do it. He lost Roger. Roger was probably his compass.

Rayleigh spent the first year and a half to teach Luffy the basics of Haki. After Luffy mastered them enough, Rayleigh left him alone for the remaining half year to finish his training. It was during these two years that he developed Gear 4 to deal with the tougher animals. Rayleigh teach luffy 1 and a half years, not 6 month, he leave luffy for 6 month. also, there's two straw hat in 11:31

I mean, there's aluminum too, but he's the lightweight brother with a serious learning disorder. Rayleigh is one of my favorite characters and this made me realize that he is just a really good guy. He got married, settled down, isn't greedy, but most importantly the only major faction he is associated with is the man hating warrior women. You have to be a good guy when the man hating warrior women like you. He's a womanizer and the man hating warrior women are still like "he's so nice." He's the GOAT, goodest of all time.

So I have a theory about the Nika fruit. The Nika fruit didn't exist until Roger made it to laugh tale, and Roger saying that he wished he could live in Joyboy's time actually ended up creating the Nika fruit. Since the fruits are made from the dreams and wishes of others, it makes sense. Plus that would explain why Luffy has Roger's personality and will as well. Just a thought

The sun god Nika fruit has been associated with joyboy ever since the beginning of the world government and they're the ones responsible for the world forgetting about the fruit by simply replacing the name of an already rare fruit with the name of its minor abilities, rubber. And the fact that it has an uncanny resemblance to the Yami Yami no mi aided the forgetting of the Nika fruit who knows maybe Blackbeard wanted to be Joy boy? And simply mistook the Yami Yami no mi for the Nika fruit.

In the anime it says Rayleigh left Luffy only 6 months prior to Luffy returning to Sabaody. So that is 1.5 years of training as there are 12 months in a year. Oda has said that time in One Piece is the same as ours.

For a dark king, someone who prefer to live in the shadow and only supporting those who he cares about, to be a master of Conqueror's Haki is quite something. Afaik, those who have and can use Conqueror's haki need to have a really strong will to do something. But the vibe that the young Ray and old Ray gives off is a really laid back vibe. He only live his life slowly while doing what he love without any grand ambition whatsoever. But if he has and can be a master of Conqueror's haki, he must have a really strong ambition. I'm curious of what is the Dark King's secret ambition? Did he already have a big dream hidden deep in his heart from the very beginning? Or he only get it after he met Roger and Roger managed to light the latent burning desire in him?
