As the story has been portraid, I think it's safe to say that a Yonko is stronger than an individual Admiral but, if any character is able to beat all three of them at once, than the power scale of the anime doesn't make sense, even prime Whitebeard or Roger should need some help from the likes of Marco, Oden, Rayleigh or Scopper Gabban to hold at least one of them off. Admirals are endgame bosses and even Luffy shouldn't be able to beat all three of them combined at the end because if he is that strong by then, it would feel like Bleach's Ichigo: way more powerful than is belivable for the universe he's within, or, as it could be, the admirals are that weak that Luffy could take all of them combined, that would be profoundly underwhelming. The only exception I can think of is Im, and that's because we know nothing about him, not even how powerful he should be and he does rule the world.

But the old dog was on life support when he decided to face the marines. The Admirals were just there for show . They put forth a minimum effort to stop WB. All 3 acting in unison, going all out, would have made short work of WB's forces. It's as if they'd decided to let the old guy die with dignity. Don't you think the World Government would have fallen long ago if the Admirals were currently weaker than Luffy/Big Mom/ Kaido? They let the so called "Emperors of the Sea" have their way, because the marines didn't have enough manpower to police the entire world. That's why they used the Warlord system to bolster their forces. Kizaru volunteered to face off Big mom + Kaido SINGLEHANDEDLY . ODA WROTE THAT. But Luffy/ Kaido/WB fans can't accept the foreshadowing written by ODA himself, that the Admirals are freaking OP as hell. I remember having to tell people that just because Luffy had beaten Doffy, he was not yet at Yonko level. He barely survived his first confrontation with Big mom. Kaido wrecked him with one hit. So who was right? In every manga/video/anime game, the toughest villains are the LAST ones you face. Luffy has yet to face off against the Admirals. And Oda hasn't even shown us what Green Bull even looks like, let alone how powerful he is.

I'm not sure whether Yonkos are stronger than admirals in strength TBH but one on one it could go either way. It doesn't even matter. The thing about One Piece is, it's always warfare and not battle. No such thing as both parties being at peak and going one on one like opponents in some typical battle shounen/seinen. The only winner is the one who is left standing. We've seen insane feats by both parties and not at any one point has it been hinted that any admiral is any lesser than any Yonko in the slightest. People just taking absence of proof and filling it with headcanon lol And yee Akainu vs Aokiji must've been an amazing fucking battle xD

Big Mom is so darn underrated. She is depicted as goofy, but this is because no one she goes up against aside from Kaido is remotely a threat. In Totto Land she is basically a horror monster. People could hit her and get away, but not do much more damage than the ship did to Cthulhu in Lovecraft's story. In her hunger pain which is a nerfed state she is capable of chasing around all her commanders without the slightest resistance. Feats from shrunk Big Mom should not be used. The current admirals lack the feats to suggest that they could do any meaningful damage to Big Mom with any less than their most powerful attacks, whereas Big Mom has displayed unreal levels of strength. Add on the homies she creates and the additional hax she has from the soul fruit and it's easy to argue that Big Mom can take on 3 admirals.

Manga Spoiler: Conquerer's Haki can be used to imbue your body or attacks like advanced armament haki, which is part of why Kaido and Big Mom are so strong. I think it's reasonable to assume all 3 OG admirals have conqueror's, and there's a theory that they actually used it together at marinford to create a protective bubble. Assuming the 3 admirals go all out, they'll use Advanced Conqueror's Haki to actually damage her. Big Mom has already admitted that to defeat Law and Kid she needs to consume 1 year of her life. As such, I believe Big Mom could only defeat the Admirals if she consumed a significant portion of her life. One Piece humans naturally live till 140 according to Oda, so she has more ammo than you'd expect.

If a single character could defeat three admirals at the same time, then the marines would be completely useless. If your three strongest fighters can be bested by single character, then it stands to reason that the rest of you will be picked off by the rest of that character's crew and allies. When Big Mom and Kaido teamed up, and Kizaru asked Akainu if he should go to Wano himself (with backup I'd imagine), Akainu's stated reason for not allowing it was due to them knowing nothing of Wano. It wasn't because Kaido and Big Mom are monsters that teamed up, it was because of Wano and their disadvantage when it comes to information in regards to the country. That says a lot. The admirals are not to be underestimated. Akainu taking two full power quakes, not being knocked the fuck out and then fighting the Whitebeard commanders to a standstill by himself later on is evidence enough of that.

@@Thasoilder No. Strong enough haki allows you to defend yourself against devil fruit attacks. Law even said as much when the Supernova were fighting against Big Mom and Kaido. I have a simple and elegant reason as to why Admirals don't do much and are "laid back" You get so good at fighting and leading, that you no longer look for solutions that involve as much work. Plus you have to realize every move made by every ship is probably watched by these three. I.e. Sengokus tactics, kizaru's underlings (and his research with Vegapunk), akainus fear. And all that responsibility and thinking for others is DEFINITELY the reason Garp never took a promotion

I would say he could even beat an admiral potentially. I think the only reason people think fugitora is stronger is because we haven`t seen the full extent of his power while with doffy we have which is quite impressive mind you. People seem to think that laws gamma knife did nothing to doflamingo because he "healed" with his strings, but this could not be further from the truth as even doffy himself says that what he did is not healing as all he did was stitch his organs together so he wouldn't outright die. The gamma knife significantly weakened doflamingo as we saw luffy hitting attack's in his base form and 2nd gear which didn't hit prior to the gamma knife at least not without the help of law. The point is that people significantly underestimate doflamingo pointing to the fact that gear 4th owned him. This ignores the fact that this was a near death doffy and that even then luffy failed to dispatch him with the first use of 4th gear. People also bring up the fact that he avoided a clash with aokigi and use this as a point to demonstrate that he is inferior to an admiral level force, but if you think about this exchange doffy only left because it was genuinely not worth the trouble to face someone equal to in power to eliminate smoker. So doffy is a lot more powerful than people give him credit for and he can clash and maybe even defat an admiral with the power we have seen.

Spoiler Warning: I don't think Sugar's Fruit would work against the Admirals. Law stated that his fruit didn't work against Kaido because Kaido's Haki was too strong. I'm not saying that the Admirals have as strong a Haki as Kaido. But, since the Admirals were one of the three forces maintaining the balance of Power of the world, they should have comparable Haki to Kaido, and hence Sugar's DF or the Jacket-Jacket fruit would not work against them.

Shirahoshi has another advantage besides being an ancient weapon: she can swim. On top of breathe underwater. Provided summoning a seaking still counts as one on one (they are living creatures with some implied self-awareness, so that's it's own discussion), she could just send wave after wave of seaking while she stays safe in the water. Ryokugyu is the only non confirmed devil fruit user, so he'd be the only wild card.
