While it's a bit of a stretch and it might as well be that it's a DF ability I wanted to mention that owls have very special eyes that have more of a cylindrical rather than ball-like shape which allows them to have somewhat of a telescope vision. That is also why they evolved such flexible necks in tandem. They cant move their eyes because of the cylindrical form so they make up for it with a head that can turn in nearly every direction. Just as a side note. So perhaps the owl indeed ate something like a zoom zoom fruit (Zūmu Zūmu no Mi) that can increase the size of whatever it is looking at for some time.

I think another point towards it not being shanks is that multi-page spread where they showed all the factions going after the one piece at the end of Vegapunk's speech, and at the top we saw the 4 emperors, and on the bottom we saw a bunch of people we knew (including Garling, Koby, Dragon, Sabo, etc...), with one of them being a silhouette of shanks. Why would he show shanks twice? That was clearly the holy knight Stabbs, who has just landed on Elbaf.

The one on Ohara was the real Vegapunk. The clone was the one who met Saul on Elbaph and studied all the books he and the new giant warrior pirates saved. Vegapunk's clone went to Elbaph 20 years ago, 2 years after the Ohara incident. The clone was created because Vegapunk figured it would've taken a long time to study all the books from Ohara, so the clone was a solution to study the books without leaving the laboratory on Egghead and to not put the World Governament on the alert

In regards to deaths in One Piece, I think Pell's "death" was the worst offender. But, Vegapunk's "death" was the only one I'm completely fine with. And in all honesty, I would've been surprised if he couldn't just revive himself. Once Vegapunk talked about having a central mainframe and being able to backup his memories and such, I knew at that very moment he couldn't truly die. It's just like in Altered Carbon. Humans can backup their consciousness and come back to life in a brand new body, so Vegapunk should be no different. He should be able to download himself into a new body. That's why I'm not bothered at all by his eventual return. But, everyone else's "death" in One Piece. Now that's a different story.

I think it IS the real Shanks, he is World Gov royalty, but he hates it, so he became a pirate. Based on my very little research (and a bit of asking ChatGPT): A complete clone would neither fit as a progeny or as a sibling but would probably be best described as a genetic twin. It can't be a progeny because that implies the existence of two sets of DNA - yours and your S.O.'s. And it can't be a sibling because, even though it shares the DNA from both your parents, its not a child of your parents because it has taken the DNA directly from you and didn't inherit it from your parents. Even though it doesn't count as a sibling, it would still count as a genetic twin because it is a genetic copy of you and would still share your DNA the same way twins do, even if the DNA was made in a lab.

Everyone assuming this is a twin or something along those lines, but him being a pirate who actually works for the people even higher than the WG makes a lot more sense. From what we've seen the vast majority of Marines have no idea who the five elders or Imu are. So I think it's safe to assume the same applies to the holy knights. This would explain why most Marines still view him as just another pirate, but why someone like Sengoku would put an end to a war just on the idea of opposing Shanks. I do not think it was strictly about him being worried about defeating the red hair pirates. This would also explain why he had hito hito no mi, he was sent on a mission to recover it and in the midst of this it was eaten by Luffy. Who he then has to sacrifice his arm in order to save because that fruit is too elusive and valuable to let Luffy die and have its location now be lost. So he has to play the supportive mentor role in an effort to keep Luffy on his side for now. Upon finding out Luffy has actually awakened the fruit, he tells his crew it's time to take action in securing the one piece. This would also explain how Shanks seemingly travels anywhere he wants without any issue. He has access to those demonic summoning circles. Any average marine would be too scared to engage him, and any marine high enough up the totem pole to know what's going on behind the scenes would just let him pass.

Just reread the chapter on VIZ and I noticed that we may be getting a bit of a sneak peak to something on the last page. Honestly, the main reason I say it's NOT our Shanks is because... firstly, why the hell would he be without Beckman or anyone from his crew? Shanks leading a double life as a secret World government emissary of some kind is weird and I don't know how his crew wouldn't notice. Secondly... he just left Elbaf and is a trusted friend. I honestly dont see it being a clone. I think we got all of that out during Egghead. We were introduced to all of the Seraphim in one way or another during the Egghead arc, we were shown all of the Vegapunk satellites, saw what would be Vegapunk's clone, and even got the revelation that Stussy is a clone as well. I feel like getting all of the clone stuff out of the way and kind of contained in the Egghead arc makes sense, and moving forward this could be theorized to be a clone of Shanks, but really if Shanks was found as a baby by the Roger pirates and stayed with them until Buggy got sick, when would they have had the chance to actually clone him? It's definitely gotta be a sibling because having family problems would make more sense for an arc based on Norse Mythology than more science-y stuff. (Side note I feel like that's why we are kinda offloading Lilith, Bonny and maybe Kuma in this chapter too. Set them up on Elbaph and get them out of the way so that no more science shenaniganry has to interrupt the Elbaph arc)

As an Identical twin, and technically being biological clones, I can say that we are two different people with different taste and opinions. To touch upon both the Vegapunk clone and a possibility of Shanks clones. They would be somewhat different from their original with the exception of their lived experience. Like me and my brother have similarities but that's due to our lived experience being the same not our genetics being 1:1. So we could see a different Vegapunk from before, and if Shanks and NotShanks are clones, or twins, they would have had totally different lived experiences and act accordingly.

I re-red the chapter today and something clicked in me: Evil Shanks is in Elbaph to kill Saul, Bonney, Kuma, Robin and probably Lilith. The chapter first focuses on this magnificent and peacefull scene of these people that survived the cruelty of the WG, having the time of their life and saying everything is gona be OOOOOKAY👌. Only for then remind us ,using our new favourite tsundere Loki, that it's clever to put your enemies down while you can. Do not show mercy. Do not hesitate. And while the mysterius Mosa-Kou is the one Loki is talking to, he's also talking to us. Telling us that the Strawhats have enemies that are not even closed to be defeated. Ending the chapter on two agents send by the WG on Elbaph. Agents that are probably aware not only of Robin and Bonney presence on the island (due to Egghead Island incident) but also about Saul, since now YORK (a Vegapunk) is part of the WG itself. And has no problem revealing the survival and location of the former Vice-admiral Saul to her boss Figarland Garling. So, yeah. Happy ending might not last that long after all.

Honestly, I don't think so. Shanks is a very important figure for Luffy so I doubt he'd be easily fooled by a doppelganger. Also there are the scars and the missing arm to account for. Then again this is the same guy who couldn't distinguish between ussop and sogeking so idk

When i read the chapter i just assumed it WASNT shanks because shanks is welcome on elbaf and wouldnt need to be teleported there But since the summoning requires someone to be there, that means it is more likely to be shanks than "frank" Probably still not evil, maybe hes infiltrating the government but i think its our shanks and oda is playing with us

I agree with the idea of Shanks being evil really doesn't work for one piece, shanks above all is luffy's role model, roger was his inspiration, but shanks was what set him on his way and he bet his arm on the future wouldn't make much sense to give up his arm which would make him weaker just so he could come around and be evil to me that would just feel really hollow. While I know film red's events aren't cannon I feel it's extremely important to mention shanks was set up to be a bad/evil person in that only for it to be shown that he wasn't and was just doing what he thought was best for uta. Oda also having worked a bit on the film to me feels more likely that the shanks we are seeing now has to be fake/clone or a twin or what have you, ontop of why would shanks just up and leave his own crew just to go back to elbalf but this time with a babe who we have never seen before and isn't associated with the red haired pirates as far as we know. Unless this is maybe some celestrial dragon mind control where all celestrial dragons blood is directly tied to IMU and thus IMU can control them as seen fit I don't think this is shanks and if it is I don't think it's shanks in action and mind

as far as i know its not a clone since cloning in onepiece is a very recent thing.. im pretty sure stussy is the first clone experiment they completed and so the timeline wouldnt match

Don’t we watch anime for the emotional roller coaster? We still felt those feelings when we thought we lost them. Wouldn’t you be excited that they ended up being around? You’re literally mad that you felt feelings! Or is it you’re mad at Oda for tricking you in a good way? I’m honestly asking cuz I don’t understand the feeling. Being upset someone we thought DEAD, (all the sad feelings), actually some how being ALIVE, (all the good feelings, erasing sad horrible feelings, feeling of relief, excitement). We still felt the feelings regardless it doesn’t erase anything.

I'm still banking on stuff like this being because of Loki, he is the tricketer god after all. Big clash between him and luffy leading up to a moment when someone finally points out where's the scar to have the dramatic reveal who the bad guy was all along. I like how everyone is looking at the circle or at Frank but no one notice the state of the throne room, the actual throne has big cut mark, walls have impact trace, the stained glass is broken and the overall room since to have been abandoned a long time ago which is probably why Frank and Mommy (yes, Mommy) can invade without any type of guard or alarm being rung , I also cannot shake this feeling that Mosa is the man with the burn scars 😂
