The cryptkeeper necromancer is actually an alchemist, not a necromancer. For some reason the writers remembered that one alchemist in the season 2 episode "Coyote Piper" had the power to raise the dead, so they just decided that all alchemists can make zombies. Unfortunately, they forgot that the alchemist in that episode didn't make zombies. And yes, I realize it makes no sense.

This might be a stretch but I think this might be alluding to what the show vision was under Constance Burge - female empowerment by being witches fighting demons. The Halliwell ancestor Melinda Warren told them she foresaw strong daughters in the family line. Also remember Prue telling Andy that only girls in the family line could become witches. When Burge left and Brad Kern took over, the tone changes with the skimpy outfits and Piper having sons , with the oldest more powerful than the Charmed Ones themselves.

Honestly, I think Piper and Leo had a boy because of Cole. In season 4 the Seer gave Cole those spiked chocolates for him to give to Phoebe. To ensure their baby was evil and had nothing from the Halliwell line. And his and Phoebe's kid was always referred to as a boy. Piper ate one. She was having fertility issues at the time and I think that healed her, made sure she had a son and might have even explained why Wyatt turned evil originally. Piper doesn't eat that candy, she and Leo have a daughter who doesn't turn out evil. Assuming she was able to conceive.

A hidden plot point people miss unless you either pay attention or binge it: Grams is technically correct when she tells Piper "this isnt the baby you were meant to have". In season 4, when Cole gets the fertility chocolates from the Seer, Piper eats one too as well as Phoebe. It was meant to help Phoebe get pregnant to make an heir. Piper is told by an Angel of Destiny that shes pregnant but in season 5 we get Wyatt (a baby that fits the Seer's vision). Those old wives tales about "do this to increase your chances of having a boy or girl", they basically did that. This doesnt explain Chris however haha

One of the few seasons they remembered to end the show on an actual finale and yet this nothing was their penultimate episode. If Oh My Goddess didnt end of the beginning of the eventual dumpster fire that was Chris's backstory I have no doubt they would have ended season 5 on this: a bunch of extras in oddly the same fashion cuz most Halliwells are from one time period I guess. I always wondered what happened with the Halliwell Wiccanings after watching this episode. The summoning spell specifically states they are calling (only) the "matriarchs of the Halliwell line" , because (like Grahms explains) there have only ever been female witches in the family. So, are Chris and Wyatt (and the other male children/grandchildren we see in the future) permanently banned from performing future Wiccanings on their lineage or did they change the wording in the future? If it were up to Grahms, I'd imagine they are just perma-banned for being p3nis-havers...
