The guy who they invade the house of is Darren Rust, he arranges most of their music nowadays since Chris left the group. Darren is also their producer.

I always love that when the guys leave Austin hanging out with a long held out note and he's looking at them with come on, help me out here!!! Live shows are just the best aren't they?!!! Miss them so much. Been to six, hoped for seven in 2020, now really hoping for seventh one in '21. So happy the Christmas special is coming this year!!

As a number of people indicated, "Grandpa" (as you labeled him 😂) is Darren Rust, their producer, arranger, and a singer in his own right (The Blenders). Good catch on recognizing The Hound + The Fox. The one guy who answered the door is Darrell Marrier, Tim's buddy and a member of the band Rosewater. You may not have realized it, but Tim recycled the suit from this video and wore it in "Sunday Best." He's such a goofball.

This is such a silly video, quintessential Home Free, beautiful singing with a sense of humour. They'd been singing it in concert at Christmas for several years before and after they made this video - you might enjoy watching some of those performances. That long note of Austin's, that's not just a studio thing, he does it live as well. The Hound + the Fox's little boy is called Rowan - I hope you might react to some of their Christmas music as well. The other neighbours were Rob's actual grandmother and a friend of Tim's who more recently appeared in a couple of the Home Away from Home videos.

One Christmas we bought my Mom a second remote control for the TV. This way when Dad fell asleep in his chair, she could change the channel. 😀 Started put as a joke but it really came in handy. Lol

Glad you know the difference between a Christmas carol & a song....carol = religious (O holy night, Away in a manger etc) song = secular (Gramdma got runned over, Silver Bells, Santa Claus is coming to town, Rockin' around the Christmas tree etc). Don't think Darren is the grandpa. More like he was the only person in the hood whose back door was open. Notice they left the front door where he was and snuck in through the back door. In Home Away From Home Darren said they just asked him to show up the next day for shooting and the scene just evolved. Don't even think they had a storyboard.

The song is about grandma... the premise of the vid is they are caroling (singing Christmas carols house to house ) but no one wants to listen, so they force their way into someone's house so the guy has no choice but to listen, and then they take the place over, lol until he finally ushers them out the door.

As for the two remotes thing, with some cable companies, if you move to a different house and reinstall there cable there or if they have some kind of upgrade to their cable boxes that everyone with their service HAS to have, they'll sometimes let you keep the old remote. Also, sometimes if you have to call someone to your house to fix something on the cable box, they'll bring a new remote, to make sure the old one isn't the problem. So, a lot of people end up with two or three remotes that all work the same TV. My brother and I used to do what the older man in the video and Austin were doing when we were little XD

Hey QoFy 👋! Fun fact: the guy whose house they invade is Darren Rust, HF’s producer/arranger guy. And the guy with the blue shirt and beard is one of Tim’s best friends, he appears in Home Away From Home, the Texas Eats double bill. It’s definitely worth watching the Home Away From Home series, might as well start with Texas Eats seeing as I’ve mentioned it. Edit: As Debs mentioned in one of the other comments, the name of Tim’s friend is Darrell Edit 2: Texas Eats is a triple bill, not a double bill
