Big block 4 speeds are always a lot of fun. Personally id have stayed with the Windsor or the SBC for doing what you're doing but this should definitely be interesting and a challenge to make work So I'm definitely here for it.

You can't have too big of an oil pump. You need to restrict the oil to the top of the motor if it has a solid roller in a small block
