Unsung. Underrated. Folks don't understand how HUGE Whodini was. 100% not talked about enough. They dropped when I was 9ish, and yeah, my mother loved them. Ecstasy's voice and flow, Jalil's pen game, Grandmaster Dee's skills - they were perfect, and had JAMS.

These guys Whodini, along with Run DMC, Fat Boys, UTFO, and LL Cool J were staples in my life. I was 15 when I first heard Big Mouth, Freaks Come Out At Night, 5 Minutes Of Funk, and Friends. I knew they could rap and the beats were dope but it wasn't until I was in my 30s that I realized just how much more mature Whodini was than any other group at the time... Real life adult subject matter. I was in my 40s when I realized they were the very first Platinum rap act and Jalil wrote everything. I'm 55 now and I'm still being enlightened and fascinated Whodini... One of the greatest music Legends of all time. Salute. 🫡

My homegirl CH moved to NYC after high school and somehow linked up with Drew. Vicariously, from Tx, i was blessed to have something like a front row seat during the Golden Era. All that to say Whodini hung the moon imo. Peace to Drew, given all that he's been through in the game its great to see him on Sway looking healthy.
