Iit was a pleasure playing against you Barak! The first 2 rounds I dodged a lot because from my experience raiders love to use as much offence as possible so I tend to dodge bash and shut them down until they switch it up. Obviously you caught onto this right away so I had to adapt myself after the 2nd round. GG’s bro!

Dodge bash in this case is very similar to fullblock in terms of what and how it shuts down and what it loses to. Although, I think because of such a big parry punish on heavy parry and light parry, you should just forget about dodge bash most of the times and go for reads. You are very favorable as worst case you eat 24 damage and you punish for 28 on a succesful read, which in theory should be around 1/3 accounting for soft feint into storming tap, heavy, and gb. That gives you an average of 9.3 damage per heavy attack assuming he uses everything equally and you are right one third of the time. Overall, parry mostly, dodge attack only when panicked.

👏👏👌😘 Barak was right about everything the Warmonger was doing right and wrong. Barak, awesome tips! Mans was reading and teaching his opponent at the same time saying he should really be parrying instead of dodging and then the guy adapts and starts parrying to earn 2 rounds. Exactly as Barak says what he should be doing. It’s almost as if Warmongandr was listening and started to actually follow thru with the tips!

I've been getting back into poker after many years and find a lot of the same concepts in FH.. You talking about "if he lights too much, you parry too much. If he heavies too much, you GB too much" is "exploitative play" in poker, by punishing your opponents mistakes, but there must also be a Game Theory Optimal for For Honor where you do certain actions a specific % of the time based on those %s adding up to a winning strategy without knowing what your opponent will do. I don't know why I'm making this comment, it's just interesting to me 😂
@csquared45382 жыл бұрын
For instance, how many times should you GB to grab heavy attacks with specific damage numbers in a match-up, vs an excellent opponent who isn't predictable, to come out ahead on average. I've heard barak talk about this before in whether mixups are viable or not. It's interesting to see how deep good players take things to be competitive.

I get completely what you are talking about and it is actually so funny because THIS IS EXACTLY what is I was trying to figure out when I had my poker phase. I got okish at poker to impress my father who made millions out of poker. Anyway, the answer is, you should have a certain bluff and value bets percentage as a default which should be the same in For Honor. Than you adjust based on your opponents percentages. I think the example you gave is really good and it is very important to make a mental procentage of your opponenets actions. I tried to use poker to make a successful DEFAULT MOVESET, which is the way I play VS a new opponenet. If you ask me, that is my weakness as I am good at ADAPTING based on the way you play, but I can be quite average in the first rounds.

@@BarakYEET wow that's crazy your dad is such a successful poker player! What are the odds I leave this comment then! Crazy.. I feel like that had to have an effect on how you view games in general.. If I understand correctly, you were, what, 15-16 when you first uploaded FH content? You were WAYY more analytical at that age than, really, most people are at any age. But I think you're right about adapting. Being able to successfully adapt to really strong opponents and play exploitative is always going to beat out other strategies. There's a lot that goes into fighting games, it's definitely not 1 to 1 with poker, but they have a lot in common. Very cool, thanks for sharing!

When I watch you play, I feel like the biggest thing people mess up on against you is the fear factor, which I’ve dealt with as well when fighting players of calibers above mine. You’re good at punishes, parrying and reads, and then the other player gets so afraid to commit to things you end up controlling the pace of the fight and predicting nearly all their moves. Vs someone like Toetmined, he can wipe the floor with you sometimes and remain unpredictable cause he’s never afraid to make hard reads against you

I have tried it many times but I can not do it conciously, as in replicate it on command in training mode. Although many times I swear I just do it unconciously. Overall, I THINK I can but very inconsistent that I do not rely on it but rather read lights instead.
