I always loved watching Kaye on our local PBS channel. She always had great ideas and techniques.

I love the sewing tips - I am doing one completely by hand and it takes me two hours to do one flower (1-6-12 flowers). It is one inch hexagons. It is turning out darling - I have finished the 40 flowers, now I am connecting them together to form the quilt. I will never to another by hand BUT by machine and bigger hexagons, just tempted me. Thanks for your tips!!!!

I’m doing the exact same quilt you described. All by hand. What size did your quilt finish at? I have dozens of the first rounds done. Now working on the 12 round. I think this quilt design is more authentic when done by hand.

Grata tip on locking stitches. My machine has autolock. The older machine I gave my granddaughter does not, it does have a few fun stitches. The manual stitch lock technique be great for those fun stiches.

Do you have a pic of a quilt finished where the flowers were squared off first? Like in your video?
