The handle of Grandpa Amu’s shovel was broken, and the handle was perfectly connected with a dovetail and tenon, making the best use of everything and inheriting it for a hundred years
There are all kinds of tastes in life, and life needs to smile right!
Hello everyone, I am Grandpa Amu, an old carpenter who likes to focus on woodworking. If you like my videos, please continue to pay attention to my channel. The videos we shoot are mainly wooden crafts. Next, my son and I I am also working hard to shoot more creative videos and share them with everyone, so that every reader can learn knowledge and ease the mood. There are also many wonderful works in the channel, everyone can appreciate them slowly, thank you for your support.
Grandpa Amu used mortise and tenon to repair the broken shovel handle, making the best use of everything and inheriting it for a hundred years【Grandpa Amu】

Not a mortise & tenon. It's a wedged scarf joint - quite a bit more difficult, even more so on a round shaft. Very nicely done

In a day and age where things are so easily replaced, it's refreshing to see a craftsman taking time to repair a handle, as good as new.

this is fraudulent video montage. Firstly he broke this handle when standing and jumping on it, and after that he started to repair. Handle "is dead" anyway

Whilst it would probably be easier to buy a new handle, repairing the broken one has cost him nothing but time, has helped him keep his skills and no doubt given him a sense of achievement and satisfaction. You can't buy that.
