Did you see that boxing fight with the 86 yr.old man Vs a 26 yr old. Grandpa beat the breaks off him.
@_SomebodyOnceToldMe_6 ай бұрын
If anyone is interested : Before the fight, the Grandpa tried to joke that Vladimir Putin raised the retirement age to 65 years old, and therefore he extended "the youth" of old people, and now he (the Grandpa) is also trying to raise the bar and so he went into the ring for the fight. At the end, the grandpa was asked about his sporting background and he said that he had boxed a little bit, and he also studied at a military school/college

My friend is an avid mountain climber . He told me a great story of being on Mount Rainier with a group of climbers. They all had the top of the line gear , glucose gel packs, water , protein bars , etc. EXCEPT for these two middle aged Russian dudes in these run of the mill winter clothes and nothing in their packs but salted pork, vodka and cigarettes . And he said nobody could keep up with them.

Never to old. I was friends with an old barber years ago. He started boxing in his 50's. At 76 he walked through some young guy that tried to intimidate him in his shop. He broke his hand. The other guys orbital was busted. If you've ever had yours broken you know it hurts. The young guys face looked like he'd been hit by a truck.

I'm 29 and I was in the ring with a 45 year old guy who is way smaller than me. He destroyed me. I tried to keep him on distance because my reach is longer and it kind of worked. But he was just faster and he catched me almost everytime I attacked. I even tried to block with a crossed guard and my elbows were blue and I had a blue eye. Even my ears were blue 😆. The thing is, he moved his head way better and even when I moved my head I couldn't get away from his punches.

I'm 32 and knocked a 55 year old nearly ⚰️ when I was 23. He was too slow and off balance. Easy pickings. I felt bad after and did not give me the confidence booster that a person normally gets after knocking someone out. It did opposite. I felt cheap. But he wanted to test himself so I tested him. I wasn't going to take it easy on him because he's old and then he can go onto KZbin comments section bragging about how he whooped me. No sir 😎

I had sparring this morning at 6am, I'm 40 so the vast majority of the guys in the gym are younger than me, but being 6'2 and about 290 I'm usually stronger. Old man strength is definitely real. We had a smoker last Saturday and I beat my opponent (32, 6'4, 290) in 27 seconds by knockout. It's the first time I've ever hit someone with full power in boxing. When it was done a bunch of the guys who I spar with came up to me and said "we now understand that you're only hitting with about 50% power in sparring when you spar us, it makes sense now". I love sparring the younger kids because they have such better cardio, they're faster, and they force me to keep pushing outside my comfort zone. Some of them have also asked me to work with them on inside fighting since trying to wrestle with me builds up their shoulders and arms since they really can't move me the same way they can with a boxer their size. It's so much fun, my only regret is not starting this journey about 10 years ago, and letting my body get so out of shape after getting out of the Army at 30.

I'm 57, so naturally I favor the old guy in this fight. When I was young, I'd hear people say things like... "Age and Treachery will overcome Youth and Agility" Of course I thought it was nonsense since I was young at the time. But now? I sure hope it's true! LOL

I don’t have the wind or mobility I had in my 20’s…..or my 30’s…..or even my 40’s. But I’m used to everything hurting. And last winter I was pleasantly surprised to find out I’m still stronger than any 3 guys at work a third my age. I don’t spar as much now or kid myself anymore that I know I can always win, but I promise the guys I spar with know they have to work hard for their bragging rights.

I am a 54 year old and still play competitive basketball with D1 players. Also, I tell you this new generation is alright. I think hard times make strong men and these young men seem pretty strong. I feel little strange because I have such respect from the 18 to 22 year olds. They call me to play basketball and for advice. They also have allot of honor, I done well for myself and they never ask me for anything, but friendship.
