When I was younger and grew up in the city and then in my older lives making unfavorable decisions that landed me in jail I have been in a lot of fights and I'm a smaller guy and something I've learned is you got to get up close. Can't let them use their reach against you and you cant be afraid to take hit to get up close. Or take him to the ground cuz everyone's the same height on the ground

Yup. I'm 5'6" from Philly. You're getting hit either way, at least get to where the fuck you can hit back lol. I haven't been in a ton of fights myself but I do got a 1 shot on a dude that was 6'3" (he was a friend of mine and we were both really agitated with our living situation) and another big fat dude that came to my house when my ex brought a bunch of dudes to my house to roll on me lol. I'm a real laid back dude but when I go, I go. So I just ran out and said line up or fuck it and just smoked the first dude who had me by a good 150 lbs (i'm not just short but i'm like 135 soaking wet lol) and easily 6'1 or so probably. Wish I still had his broken glasses as a souvenir :(

Same. 5'5": must close the distance, stay in close, and be in better condition than your taller opponent just to break even.👍

As a 6'4" guy, I can say if you're explosive enough, this works. I will also say that up close, it's harder for a taller guy to get power into a punch while punching down (aside from uppercuts). When you're shorter, it's easier to drive through your legs punching up.

Basically, the key to winning a fight as a smaller guy is get in close. Close the distance, make it hard for the other guy to throw effective shots

This is all me Mr. Strangles People. I'm 5'1 135 and was always super athletic, i was quicker than most taller guys, could double leg anyone, but with T Rex arms if i don't get inside and take it down to the ground MOST taller people with any kind of boxing skills whatsoever could piece me up. Me especially, i have super short arms so i'm always at a complete disadvantage to even a lesser boxer on the feet. But i've always been aware of it, i've always done alright but i also know when to walk away..lol

I am 5 foot 6 and a half I was one of the shorter guys when I started kickboxing the other guys were mostly between 5 foot 8 and 6 foot 2 or 3. I learned fast and early on the coaches had me training with the black and brown belts learn distance real damn fast got my ass kicked alot but I became pretty damn good pretty fast went to tournaments always came in thrid or first in my category never second. I might of been one of the smaller guys but I was one of the biggest guys as well heavier with more muscle also stronger in general. 240kg deadlift.

short kings can be some fierce fighters. Usually a bad idea to think you've got the upper hand just because you're taller. Anyone remember David Tua or Igor Vovchanchyn? I mean, Mike Tyson is what ? 178-180cm tall? Not the tallest for a pro boxer, especially heavy weight.
