If you get a piece of glass in your finger, any tape will work including scotch tape. You feel it but can't see it - press the tape down firmly and slowly lift off. It works, I've done it. On your snow shovel try silicon spray. It's VERY slippery - don't get any on the floor! I use the little packs of dehydrator found in pill bottles to keep needles, pins and scissors rust-free in my sewing basket.

1 no Water Displacement formula 40 is terrible long term. Use a silicone spray or even better powdered graphite.
