I understand what you intended when you said that the court realizes that contact with grandparents is a positive thing. That said, it's rather a broad statement. There are loads of grandparents who proved to their children that they have absolutely nothing positive to offer a child. I certainly hope that if the parents object and there is a real reason for the objection that it would not go through. I'd move out of the state before I let my parents interact with my kids.

The law is essentially a series of rules and exceptions to those rules. Arizona law presumes that it is best for children to have contact with their grandparents (the rule), but it allows a parent to prove that there is an exception to that rule. In fact, the law says that a parent’s objections should be given “special weight” when making these decisions. In other words, the parent’s objections are considered to be extremely important, but the judge still has to make the decision based on all the evidence.
