My grandparents also raised me together with my sister and older cousins. I'm always grateful to them, that's why now that I have job even if it's little I send them money like 2k PHP every month.

The 1year I lived with my grandparents was the best year of my young life. I got C pluses and Bs in school and being enthusiastic about my life. Once I started drinking and using drugs my grandmother said she wasn’t going to deal with this again. I went back home and got into serious criminal and drug addiction problems. I don’t blame my grandparents for not being able 26:25 to keep me with them 😇 They gave me the gifts of love no matter what I did or didn’t do. God bless them both ❤

my wife and i have had our three beautiful grandchildren now for over a year. the parents both on drugs. My daughter lives five minutes away and goes months without seeing the children. It happens allot,But tonight my two year old granddaughter woke up and came in our room and just wanted rocked back to sleep. But tonight was different. I picked her up and began to rock. and she looked up at me and said. pawpaw. where did my mommy go. I miss and worry and love my daughter very much. and at that moment i felt more pain than i thought humanly possible and began to sob. On one hand i hurt for and over my daughter and on top of that i hurt for my granddaughter. I didnt know pain like that existed. thats all.

This was so touching! I was raised by grandparents and they helped me through college. Its difficult for the grandparents because children don't understand what's going on and can feel abandoned. For anyone going through this, I hope these children know they are loved and that the grandparents know they are a blessing!

This made me cry! Our Grandparents having to go through so much to raise our Grandchildren. It's a struggle at times! Financially it can pull us down a whole lot & it can be very hard to find support for us out there. Thank God (& I mean this literally) for an organizations like GRG! I appreciate you guys very much & I'm happy to know that when I need help, I know I can call on our GRG trust here in New Zealand. Thank you for sharing & hearing other stories about what other Grandparents (from other parts of the world) are going through or have gone through with bringing up their grandchildren & their struggles they had to endure along the way. As well as all the positive that comes out of it also! God Bless You...

I work for one of the major U.S. supermarket chains. Trust me, I've seen the scenarios presented in this video time and again. There are many, many grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. So much of the time, the reason why boils down to one word - drugs. What really floora me is that some of them are actually GREAT grandparents. I don't know what this world is coming to. My hear goes out to these grandparents and great grandparents (sometimes aunts and uncles also) who care enough to step up to the plate.

I was raised by Grandparents, sometimes mishap happens in marriage and its the grandparents that mostly step in thats what my grandparents did for me, they raised me, financially supported with their pension, i am 23 now, sadly my grandpa passed when i was in final year of college ! It is a kind of blessing that i was lucky enough to have such a great grandparents but unlucky enough to have selfish deadbeat parents.

My daughter lost two jobs because of the pandemic and she had to relocate to another state far far away. My grandson being in school came to live with me. It’s definitely a change as I am fifty seven and raising a boy. I see this happening more and more. My daughter didn’t have a drug issue, hers was a job issue but we still have to do what we have to do.

I have adopted two great grandchildren from a grandson and a granddaughter. They are cousins. I am in America and I know some kin have had issues with the system here but I was fortunate both times. I have my 13 year old great granddaughter now. I am so sorry for those that have struggles with the system as it is stressful enough dealing with all the issues the kids are going through and the heart break of children’s and grandchildren on drugs and homelessness.

Thanks for sharing! I made the decision to hire an attorney and seek custody of my energetic two year old grandson from my illegal drug using daughter. It was a big and serious decision to make; my grandson deserves stability and proper training. I am waiting for a court date on pins and needles and pray it goes in my favor. Which means in his favor as well as he is neglected. Whether my daughter will ever straighten up is anyone’s guess. Videos like this are invaluable!

This government should be ashamed of how its treating these grandparents. To stop helping these Gparents with these children who are at risk of repeating the cycle of addiction is so wrong. The one woman that said her daughter continued to get help with EVERYTHING and the child stopped getting even their basic needs met. So basically the drug addict was given priority over the child. How can anyone afford to raise a child on $400 a month with no other help. This is not supporting these Gparents at all. Most of these people are on a fixed income and have health issues themselves. They have stepped up to the plate to rescue these children from foster care and the government is turning their backs on them and to me thats very sad.

grand parents do it in a gesture of 💕 love but raisin a kid in North America cost 250k. So it’s also a very generous gesture. That been said, my is son is 7 years old. We go through 7 fertility cycle to have my son. He is the fist grand child on both side family...he got so much love from the large family. We can’t predict the futur and we hope the best for him. But if it happen he will be teenager father, my husband and I will definitely raise our grand kid. All kids deserve a family. No doubt on this.

I hope many more “parents” leave their children alone with their parents if they know they hate being one. Just because you’re there physically doesn’t mean your a good parent. I’m saying this because my Husbands sister does this. She left her 2 oldest and then comes and pretends like she’s been there all those years. She doesn’t like being a mom. She always says “man I wish I can just leave”. Leave then! Everyone knows she doesn’t love her children. She let her parents and sister raise them (8 total) basically. Doesn’t make them food, buys only junk food, doesn’t care for their health, let’s them sleep on the floor while she sleeps on a bed, doesn’t care if they shower or eat, makes the oldest change the youngest diaper, goes out every weekend, etc.. I have tried to be compassionate and helpful to her yet anyone tells her anything she tells them off. It’s irritating! If you don’t like being a “mother” leave! The kids will be better off without you telling them that you hate being there! 😤

My stepmom (who I'm still close to even though she's long divorced from my dad) has no grandchildren but is raising 2 of her niece's grandchildren. That's too much burden for a 75 year old woman but she does it gladly. Her niece's lineage is particularly plagued by dysfunction...died from drugs a few years back. She had four daughters and only one has a nice stable family. One other ther one is ok too but not as traditional. But the youngest two...drugs, violent boyfriends, criminal activity ect. Each if them had two children each. My stepmom raises two, the above mentioned stable family daughter raises one, and my step brother raises another. Hawaiian style, the family always comes together like that, no matter what.
