This is an epic song. It's like Exogensis Synphony but as a single track (If you don't know exogenesis, it's worth a reaction kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3aramuVfcZll6M (not live - i'm not sure they ever played the full version live though the certainly have played each of the 3 parts) Loosely over 3 parts, a power hungry leader gets the nuclear codes, war takes place, leader laments the destruction he has caused. There are some cringy and wonderful lyrics in the first and third part (the war part has only the countdown). The flags are a Glasonbury festival thing - Many moons ago i went to glastonbury (1999-2005 but missing 2004 when muse headlined) and it's part fun part practical - your friends can find you in a massive crowd if you're waving a flag (or in our case an inflatable alien on a stick).
