3 years sober now. I got a peep memorial tattoo when he passed because I related to him heavy. The only difference was his musical genius and I beat my demons before they beat me. Never judge addicts, or OD victims. They're someone's child. They are you or me, we are all one bad day from breaking. Have pity, offer support and love. People can only fix themselves if they want to and have the love or drive to do so. Rest in peace to those that couldn't beat their demons in time.

My dad raised me and my sister as a single father. He raised us telling us about his days before he was sober, always warning us and trying his best to keep us from making his mistakes with drugs. I was raised only knowing my sober father, he would do anything for us and loved us tremendously, and did it all by himself. Sadly, about 6 months after my highschool graduation he relapsed on drugs, it took almost another 6 months for me to find out. He promised to stay clean, but it's almost two years later. After being forced to move out, having my things stolen from his "Friends", people staying in what was my room, finding drugs in our basement, and multiple meaningful family items stolen and sold for drugs (including my Grandfathers silver star he got in the war, and my dead uncles guitar he left us, the only thing he left us), and so much money borrowed that I will never see again... I had to cut myself off from him, I love my dad so much but I miss the version that raised us and never would have lived how he does now. Drugs are not a joke, they ruin relationships, they ruin lives.

I'm going to be honest at first the song didn't really catch my attention because I just thought it was another song about doing drugs but the more I listened to the lyrics, I started to understand it. And then whenever I saw the music video it hit me pretty hard because I used to be that person and I've been clean for 4 years now but I sent this to my sister and told her everything that I was always trying to get out but couldn't find the word for on how I felt this put it in perspective everything I always wanted to say when I was doing it. My family always thought that I wanted to keep doing it but in reality I was trying to get out but when someone who hasn't touched it before tries to help you they don't realize how hard it is and they think it's easy. And now I'm trying to save my friend who's falling deeper and deeper and me and this kid have been through hell and back together and he is the one person I can pretty much call my brother because we grew up together and we were inseparable and now I'm watching him fall to this drug that's infested our country. I listen to this song every single day because it makes me feel like I can accomplish anything just because I got past that and if I can do that then what's to stop me from doing anything else? I developed the strength and the mind power to get out of it on my own with no rehab, no counseling, I didn't really have a lot of people there I decided to do this on my own just because I saw the pain that I was causing my girlfriend, my family and my friends and worst of all myself. I actually did overdose and the worst part was I was home alone that day and it happen as my mom pulled into the driveway, that should have been a wake up call itself but I continued to do it over and over and it wasn't until I blacked out one day totaled my car with the help of a semi truck before I realized that I needed to change my ways because that accident could have gone way worse. If you know anybody doing this or if you are doing drugs yourself take it from me it is hard and I understand because I was a user for many years but you can do it and believe me there are the people that fell down that same hole that you did and the ones who got out are the ones you need to turn to for help, I wouldn't recommend going to those who haven't even touched it because they can't even begin to understand your pain.

I remember at the age of 15 first trying meth and it felt like a whole new world of pleasure, love, comfort and freedom that everyone I felt was against. Then it lead to not caring what anyone had to say.( Parents, teachers, counseling, close friends I've know for years...... And even my own self) I did so much I should be dead or in a wheelchair or not mentally stable. Everyday I wish to dive even deeper into the abyss but I know I won't come out. I remember this one day absolutely fucked out of my spirit and looking for a song that would send me a spiritual message or something to help, and I found this song after 3-7 hours of music. It hit me so hard I don't know how to explain it.

When i first listened to this song, it felt so powerful to me. It got me really addicted to your music Grandson, and this video is just another reason to continue listening to your songs. You spread awareness through a medium thats incredibly powerful to the minds of people, and i find that to be absolutely genius. Not only that, but your style of music and video production is incredibly inspiring. I love your music, and i hope you get more recognition Grandson.

I absolutely love the PSA-like approach with the visuals and even the song itself. It, to me, really drives home the realistic horror of drug usage whilst also being extremely memorable with the absolutely amazing song composition and catchy lyrics. Honestly, for a song like this, I believe that this is a best route you've could've taken with the visuals. Thank you, grandson

Man I haven’t seen oxys that aren’t pressed in years. Don’t do it, it’s all fent analogues now anyway and you can’t dose properly or know when the next one will take you out. Not worth it. I battle with the same thing every day though. I know what it’s like.

I just saw you guys play this last night in Allston Ma and was so moved. As a recovering addict, it really spoke to me. I've been off hard drugs for 6 years now but I still struggle with alcoholism. It's hard as fuck but I'll get through. I just wanted to say thanks for writing this song, it means a lot to me.

I used to always think that most pop and trap is just pure T R A S H, but grandson takes originality to a whole new level. With the amazing political messages he's trying to send mixed with his talent of music, it works so well. I like rock, but this is still perfect. Im only your average cringe child going to school, and this is the stuf i listen to. The thing that makes me like his music is the message, and thats important when it comes to music. I hope he gets some recognition cause he deserves it. Thanks for doing all you can to help make a america the TRUE dream.

My brother is a recovering heroine addict and this song has really hit home for me. From his crashing his car into a telephone pole to being revived with narcan , twice, this song describes his struggles as an addict. Just being able to function enough to get that next high. That's all its about for them. But its time for a change when you overdose,. 1 year sober now.

"each day 580 people use heroin for the first time" just hits me every time. I was one of them once as well I sincerely hope this song reaches and influences 'normal' people who otherwise know nothing about drug addicts and only judge and look down on us from a distance. It's hard to change when you're already pushed to the edge of society.

I usually listen to music on Spotify but damn this video gives me chills every time I watch it. One of the best music videos I’ve even seen. The speech sample adds a lot to the song too which is unfortunately not included in other releases

Why is this song relatable? It's more of the fact that it's not just drugs that make you feel this way, It can be music It can be food It can be sex Either way you're seriously damaging your body while trying to make yourself feel better. Don't be afraid to ask for help, Someone will always be there for you. And hang in there...
