I’m wondering why if her son agreed to get it then why did the mom have to take over? It seems to me like the grandmother should be mad at her son. If he got the insurance initially, then a month hasn’t passed yet unless it was insured while it was getting worked on.

If your mom bought you some sneakers or an expensive suit, if you ripped the suit or someone stole the shoes from the gym locker room.. why would your mom ask you to give her the money the suit or shoes cost? If grandma said he could use the car and had to return it when he got a new one, then yes, this situation would make sense. But if it’s a gift, and it’s gone… the grandson just doesn’t have a car now.

I understand why grandmother is upset with the mother. The mother definitely should have had insurance on the car for a teenager. Judge Mathias should have said something to the mother to make her accountable and the grandson should had been in court. Mother spoke more about her abusive relationship than the car. The mother should have been accountable and I feel grandmother is going to put distance between her and grandson mother.

My dad gifted my 16 year old a charger. I was livid cuz whyyyyy sir. So I got the title in my name and sold the car. I got my son another smaller car, that I felt was good for a first car. After we got the car, we found it need a transmission (I definitely take the blame cuz I didn’t take anyone with me)….I didn’t call my dad about it. My husband and I paid for it. My parents did find out till last year. If something is a gift, u can’t dictate it after it’s given.
