Got one of these as a present when I was sick with cancer in 1983 at age 5. Saved my soul. I’m going to make a song with sounds. Thanks you Astro wars. I get emotional listening to it.

Wow i got this for christmas from from farmers in new zealand when i was around 8 and are now 40, gee time flies. It feels like yesterday. Being a typical curious kid i pulled it apart to see how it worked and could never put it back together again. The next year i got one called dracula. Thanks for the video

Watching the space x flight and returning to Dock reminded me of astro wars game and made it a reality , never imagined at the time of playing that this would be realty and always thought of the landing as the moon landing and the Dock was missing until now , 2024 a blink in time when looking back and only 43 years travelling at lightspeed in game , amazing and brilliant to see the game boxed with adapter and the game working , thanks for memory recall .

That brings back a lot of childhood memories, having your own space invaders at home was a revelation in those days, I even remember choosing it from my mums 'peter craig' catalogue, I think i was about 11, I had Astro wars and my slightly older brother had Sramble which i was a bit jealous of, god knows how many hours were spent playing and how many batteries wasted, I went onto zx81's, spectrums, vic 20's, amiga's and eventually pc's, happy days !!!!

Still got my one, and it still works! Great game. Played it so much, back in the day. Having several different types of wave really helped keep the interest up, and it was very cleverly designed, getting the absolute most variety and gameplay possible out of the limitations of that "pre-drawn" display, i.e. it was basically an LED version of those LCD "Game and Watch" things.

I bought one of these back in what must have been the mid 90s for 2 quid at a car boot sale, thinking it must be ancient 1970s and perhaps worth something. It doesnt work anymore though. i think it stopped working around 2008. Surprisingly they were still in the Argos Catalogue as late as 1988, at which point they were charging £34.99 (it can be found on page 254 of the spring/summer catalogue) In Argos Autumn/winter 1982 catalogue they were only charging £22.99 (it can be found on page 245) so unlike in the 1990s, when the same consoles got cheaper as the decade progressed, this went up in price.
