I'm a Grandstream Guru on the forum (not a successful pickup line) I've sold and supported a wide variety of systems. They all drive me crazy for various reasons. I've settled with Grandstream. Still drives me crazy but I love it.

Just a quick note that I don’t think was mentioned here. We ran this exact test a month ago for a client with 45 APS. We found the 820 fell short of the 810. 810 is wifi AC and 820 is wifi N. Also, 810 had 0 second drops between APs as the 810 supports 802.11r (roaming). When configured on your AP, voice continuity is flawless where as I found the 820 dropped for more around 3 seconds per AP. We roamed between around 8 APs. You need to enable 802.11r on your AP.

How about using wifi 6? Any of these wifi phones truly worth it?
@DiddlySquat1272 жыл бұрын
@@psfgtech unfortunately there are no Wifi 6 APs at this location. After having these handsets in place for about a year now, we’ve had about a 20-25% RA. We will never put the 810s in again. Everything from simply not connecting to wifi, buttons not working, not booting…I would hate to think what a large fleet would be like.

Man, the WP820 would (could) be a perfect replacement for an airport / ground handling radio setup (at least if it was waterproof, or a decent case). 8 hour shifts, multiple group and direct calls through the PBX, an OS which could run custom apps (say to trigger announcements, manually update screens, even work with dispatch data which can change at a moment's notice), and of course can roam freely throughout the airport on already installed infrastructure, with no radio channel limits and (relatively) crystal clear audio that could even be used to make announcements from anywhere in the building. Even if it can't be used outside, it could interface with existing radio systems (which are usually PBX based / connected anyway) and beat them on price for those who are usually inside. Most calls would be done while stood still, so probably jumps probably wouldn't be a huge problem, and at the price it would be a steal, especially in smaller airports where staff serve multiple roles and move around a lot

A good way to use the two accounts is to set up one for the local WIFI and the second to the same extension but the external ip address. then can use the phone while out of the office as if still in office.

We use Spectralink in Government in Queensland Australia and they work well. They never drop out. Spectralink are good as they have rugged cases you can get - Not sure about cases for the WP810/820s though.

Newer sets now. Both the Grandstream Dect and WIFI cordless phones have been superb since day one. The WP826 is the best WIFI cordless phone, period. Doesn't have lag or delay like others also. (When a phone has been sitting for a while and the first digit dialed is not recognized) The price point is amazing. Best value for a VoIP device we've ever seen. 12hr battery, 240hr standby - come on - WOW. There is a reason they are already sold out at most distributors. There is not a finer WIFI cordless on the market for the price.

Wow, we kinda have the same set up, I have an edge router 4 and 4 access points, but I'm all on one floor. Basically an AP in each corner of the house, two AC-HD's on the most used side, an AC-Pro, and an AC in wall in the garage. When I first moved here years ago, cell service was crap, so I had to rely on wifi calling. I had the same issue with a brief lost of audio when roaming, but I checked "fast roaming" and it fixed it. I know you know about that option, I've just noticed after some updates, I've had to go in, uncheck it and provision, then re-enable it and provision for it to work properly again. I also noticed the other day that my some of my SSID settings had been defaulted and I had to re-enable them. So now after every update I make sure I check everything. Anyway, I know you know this crap more than me, just rambling I guess. Always enjoy the content man!
