I'm not seeing a deep-dive video. Also, I highly suspect they are relying on MAC address or IP address for detection, which is way too easy to copy, making it not effective against a determined and knowledgeable individual.

Great vid, very helpful in understanding vlans. Could you do a video about all the equipment one would need to create vlans that was budget friendly. I have struggled with knowing what I need, nothing I have seem to work. Google mesh router doesn't seem to allow for vlan. I bought switches but they were not layer 3 and the layer 3 I saw were super expensive. I think a step by step and recommended equipment at various price points would be a great and helpful video. I have lost so many hours trying to figure this stuff out. Thank you

A question from a novice (if I may): how to assign a wireless device to a particular VLAN, in other words how does a wireless device know which VLAN it belongs to? Thank you!

the device on the stand on your desk reminds me of Lost in Space TV show from the 1960's as it looks like their spacecraft. Glad you posted the power usage as I've been considering an access point and was unsure if I should get a switch with 20W/channel power output or what. It appears PoE+ will do me for what I need as I'm only going to have an access point (single) plugged into the switch.

Hello, Good Morning. Can Spectrum’s modem and router, which provide Internet access to our small office, support a setup where they are used solely to bring Internet into the office? We plan to disable the Wi-Fi on Spectrum’s router and implement our own solution to provide Wi-Fi for both office workers and guest visitors, with VLANs (or if two non-Spectrum routers) separating the two networks (office & Guest). What are the most cost-effective solutions to achieve this configuration while retaining Spectrum’s modem and router as the primary Internet source? Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays. Stay Safe. Kind Regards.

Thank you for your videos! Is it possible to have a domestic network with Ubiquiti products like yours, which separates two "subnetworks": one with 2,4Gh for domotic products and another with 5Gh for personal computer, mobiles, etc? Can I choose the frequency when I configure each network?

$150 a month for 138 mbps speed with a 54ms latency ping is pretty nice if you're in the middle of nowhere and can't get a cellphone signal. that's close to half the speed and ping of decades old regular cable internet.

Hi Chris I have a problem we set up a Nano station M5 some 4 years ago at our local church after following your excellent tutorials. The system has worked perfectly with an Access point connected to our US-8-60W switch to provide wi-fi. The LAN cable was inadvertently removed from port 1 on the switch which dropped the connection to our remote internet router. We quickly put the LAN cable back into port 1, but, there is no connection to the internet. There is no LED showing green on port 1 either. Is there a simple solution, or do we have to go through the whole setup procedure again which seems a little long winded. I would greatly appreciate your input and hopefully I can rest easy again.

You summed up exactly why I will forego this product in about 02:20. I'll be damned if I will buy expensive equipment then face a data limit, spotty service and inconsistent customer service. My broadband never fails and prices/speeds are very consistent. Growing pains is something I will avoid. Musk needs to focus and perfect like Apple and Toyota have found widespread success.

Sadly the Tailscale feature is still in beta and it’s not possible to set this up as a Tailscale exit-node, so that sucks! GL.iNet confirmed to me the Tailscale/exit-node is not being further developed. They said “the team has no plans for this” So the feature to make this router even more secure is cancelled😂🤨

"If you live in a building made of brick of concrete, good luck to you." The house I live in was built in the 60's. Its concrete and brick through and through as most were in the UK at that time. I have one TLink access point in the loft that covers the whole house. yes, brick and concrete are a pain for Wi-Fi but, they're not the end of the world.

Chris, excellent review! I've been considering the Spitz AX for some time but recently came across the newer Puli AX, which is only about $20 more as of November 2024. Both models seem impressive, but the Puli AX stands out with slightly faster Wi-Fi speeds and the added convenience of a built-in battery, which is particularly useful during power outages. If you ever get the chance, I would love to see your thoughts on it in a future review. I've been a big fan of your work for years-thank you for consistently providing such insightful content!

I've been using this model with a Waveform QuadMini antenna at home for a few months now. I'm able to pull 500m down and 30 up through that modem, and it offers me a cheap, fast and relatively reliable backup internet connection.
