Xhaka criminally underrated by social media fans but match going fans and true fans can see the effect this man has on the team. Without him we are lost in midfield. Xhaka deserves respect, and I hope this video goes a way in repairing the rift he has with the fans. He still has a lot to give here. For me, Xhaka is the captain without the armband. He does not need the metaphorical symbol of the band around his arm, when he is on the pitch, in the media, for his national team - he is a natural captain and he is always striving for the best for this club. Very well spoken and openly honest interview from Granit. The fact that so many managers opt for him to be their Captain speaks volumes about the man and his personality, commitment and dedication. So agree with him that criticism is one thing but abuse towards his family is totally unacceptable and I would like to add it’s also unacceptable to abuse Granit himself or any player but unfortunately we are in that social media age where abusers hide behind an avatar and a made up name and don’t for one minute think about the affect and consequences of their actions. Granit has performed really well for Arsenal this season and having left a home stadium where the majority of your fans were booing and jeering, whether it was fault of his own or not, to then decide to stay and come back to where he is now takes an incredibly strong character, a huge amount of hard work and courage. Granit is so right, we watch our players for 90 minutes but we don’t know them, we don’t know how hard they work or of any personal issues they might be facing so it is not right to get personal but only right to criticise the football performance.

I followed this guy since his Gladbach days and know how they suffered after he left, Granit to many fans might look like an expendable character with the "Anyone can do his job" narrative, people will realize the day he is gone as to how important a player he is to the team. të dua Granit

Granit Xhaka has been the most consistent player across the last two seasons at Arsenal, he deserves respect for that, people like to point out only what benefits their preconceived ideas. Arsenal football club has the core of it’s values set in the ideas respect and class, nothing of that is shown when someone’s life is threatened, true fans stand by our successes as much as the hardships, someone who identifies with Arsenal should never threaten a club servant, let alone their family. Xhaka has shown again and again his passion for the club and how much he cares, i’m tired of people amplifying his mistakes and undermining his ability and commitment, he is a true leader amongst players and it’s time for the fans to acknowledge the passion and commitment, time to move on, I know I already have, come on Granit, right behind you and the rest of the lads. We’re building something special here❤️🤍 #COYG

Great interview and top guy. So professional. Probably Arsenals best midfielder of the past 6 years but gets more hate than the rest of the team. AFTV the cause of a lot of this, giving fans who shouldn't be heard a voice. For those who say they deserve a voice, how's that guy getting on in prison?

What Granit meant by “I dont believe they watch the game” is the fact that no person on these dumb Arsenal fan channels have coaching qualifications and no tactical understanding because you won’t get views trying to explain your thoughts over 20 minutes you have to be quick and simple with loud voice to get the headline and the attraction and the fame. Worst thing to happen to arsenal in the 2010 decade bar not getting Kante and Mahrez the is fan channels

i was one of many who was frustrated with granit’s performances and behavior a couple of years ago. i think everyone could see how much pressure he was under as captain, and it got to him. he’s won me over since, been absolutely integral and i understand now that he’s just a passionate and driven guy that won’t back down from anyone or anything. much love to granit, looking forward to having him around for a while longer

This was a long time coming and needed, as an overseas/'plastic' fan he has always been a favorite of mine but alot of fans closer to the club were hurt. Fascinating to hear Granit's own words and opinions. As an Arsenal fan and a Granit fan, I remember watching his 'welcome to arsenal' reels, may his deep passing, hard tackling and XhakaBOOM! Become the stuff of Arsenal lore. Thank you Granit.
@scorpionsrock15112 жыл бұрын
You are NOT a plastic fan. You’re a proper fan! Plastic fans are those who jeered & booed him off the pitch. I was there and I wanted the ground to open and swallow me. That was the third time that some fans booed him. Before Palace at home game (I think / remember) we were @ Burnley away and not so far from where I was standing, 5/6 Arsenal fans booed him. So, it wasn’t the first time that our fans booed Xhaka

Granit is one of those rare modern players who could survive in many eras of football. From the 70s, 80s, 90s early 2000s, eras when the game was brutal and physical and you needed to be a gladiator on the field. Great interview!

I love Xhaka for that sole purpose he stood up to the fans. This guy gets abuse after abuse for no reason. Im an arsenal fan and what he done there was right. If the fans cudnt take it being told to F off then they need to be mindful of the abuse they give players. Players are athletes not anyones slave. Theres nothing wrong with criticism but everything has a line. Respect to Xhaka and i hope he does well.
@raptoreagle20002 жыл бұрын
Major reason why they can’t stand him.. they expected an apology and he gave them none either. Arsenal fans have become bullies and xhaka was/is having none of it.

What a great talk. And watching it now (Oct. 2024) while knowing his role in Leverkusen, that makes all this so much more meaningful. Great person at Arsenal already. He made me watch them. And absolute awesome with Alonso and the team there. Loads of chances for his father to praise him.

Absolutely fantastic interview. I'm so happy I have always been behind him, he is so important for our club and I hope he continues to play hard for us. This also goes to show how genuinely cancerous AFTV is, I feel like they incite so much of what Granit, and other Arsenal players go through. It has been better, but also notice that we have been winning for the most part. We need to remember that these players are human too.

How do you know? You’ve ironically just done exactly what Granit said. Speaking about players when all you see of them is their 90 minutes on the pitch. You don’t know any of them so how can you say they aren’t leaders? It’s impossible to know what each and every other player is like away from the pitch and away from the screens

Let me say I've loved and I'm a big fan of Granit Xhaka and I'm happy he came out and spoke about this and how he feels about it. There are a lot of players who have been in similar situations, but we can't remember them cause we castigated them and forgot about them. But I'm really happy about Granit coming out to speak about how he feels and I hope starting from our next match we arsenal fans will treat things differently.
