Granite Country around Tenterfield, ep 95

G'day Bill, thanks for bringing back the drone, the opening footage of that massive lump of granite was spectacular and the finishing footage equally so. It's a great area around Tenterfield, lots of scenic drives, and the old buildings in town. I'm a happy little Vegemite, much appreciated Bill. Take care please. Looking forward to next video. That Mackenzie lookout is a little gem at Tenterfield I only discovered it in 2017. Looks like they are doing a bit of roadway works on deck granite surface it needed it The Sunnyside bridge is heritage listed but they have done no maintenance on it, the last train was 1989. Tenterfield has a beautiful station that has a wonderful museum in it You did well climbing Bald Rock. Take care

Hi Fred ,there is so much around Tenterfield, almost a hidden secret, the road around the granite was pretty good,shame about the old bridge, it really is about to collapse in 2 places,I love old rail bridges the museum was closed when I was there,I did get footage of Jennings railway station but didnt fit it in the video,so Glen Innes next week,take care Bill.

Tenterfield is such a nice country town surrounded by remarkable granite formations and that view from Mt. McKenzie was much appreciated! How sad New England folk no longer have a Sydney to Brisbane railway service. Somewhat depressing to see that Sunnyside rail bridge in the state it is, but I’m sure you’ll look back pleased you got some great multi-angle shots of it! Thanks for taking us to these scenic places Bill! Loved it!

Hi Kris,a very nice area the whole New England, also much cooler than say Lismore etc,I used to think that Heritage Listed meant preserving, but I hope the locals partition the authorities to stop it collapsing. The Glen Innes area is just as scenic too,so until next week take care Bill

Greetings Bill. 1) I've climbed Bald Rock and Ayres Rock twice each. 2) The area between Stanthorpe, Tenterfield, Texas and Inglewood is the low level training operations area. The north south transit corridor also runs between Texas and Stanthorpe. At the time, the RAAF F111's used a system called Pave-Tac which was the terrain following system. 3) I wonder what other nice parks are in the area ? And I wonder if Captain Thunderbolt had a Look Out ? And if so, what did he look and hope to see ? hahahaha LOL :-)

That was a great hike up Bald Rock,I tried Ayres Rock twice got just over half way each time,I'm going to Torrington National Park near Glen Innes and some other parks too,there's are Mystery face formation too in the rocks,the whole area is amazing, must of been noisy with the RAAF aircraft, take care Bill.
