You can walk all the way to the plate in the room where the spider is if you stay along the wall the whole way. I figured that out when my gun fell over by the plate when the spider killed me. Hope you see this and it helps you!

Did you know that there is a glitch about the car and the gasoline. If you turn your sensitivity all the way off after crouching at the back of the car ( the area that you need the car key for ) the metal frame on the right. Face it and wait for about 10 seconds, you will see a meter. It' s for the gasoline. Fill it up and then you don' t need to worry about the car key. I tried it and I was about to die but I escaped. Yay. I hope this is useful.
