Words can not explain what this vedio did for me. My mom made this exact fudge for me as I grew up. Birthdays and Christmas only. It was such a treat. But she showed me one time how to make but to be honest I did not pay close enough attention. Then she suffered a stroke and passed. As I watched this vedio it was like I was watching her. You did everything just the way she did. Even the wooden spoon. When I seen the finished fudge I said is there anyway...well I watched the vedio 3 times and cried. Then tried it. IT IS MY MOMS FUDGE. My kids took a bit and began crying too. They are teenagers and remember it. Thanks to you we will have fudge for Christmas again. And just in time. True Christmas miracle. Also my mom said little is much when God is in it ALL the time. That just showed me God was in it. This vedio made my whole Christmas. It is a priceless gift for our family. Words can never say how much we Thankyou.

THIS IS A WINNER!! I made this peanut butter fudge for our family Christmas celebration. I have an accurate Thermapen thermometer. If you heat the mixture to 234 degrees then add the butter and vanilla to help stop the cooking (and immediately stir in the peanut butter), you will get perfect fudge every time. I like the fact that you can pour it hot into a buttered glass pyrex right after you stir in the peanut butter without cooling it. Some chocolate fudge recipes require the mixture to be cooled to 120 degrees and then beat the mixture. This is definitely easier. I used a generous cup of peanut butter, and three tablespoons of Watkins vanilla. Bon Appetit!!

My Grandma raised her kids in the depression. When we came along she was still making this. This is the same as her recipe (she used canned milk but I don't usually have that on hand so I use regular whole milk) and I turn this on when I make it and do it with you. *She did the ice in the water just like you to keep checking for the softball stage - this is how I teach my kids too! I miss my Grandma and doing it with you triggers such wonderful memories! Thank you Robin!

I just happened to see this today. I’ve made peanut butter fudge for years. My recipe is similar but in smaller amounts. I use 2 cups sugar, 2/3 cup milk and 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar. After it comes to a rolling boil, stir it constantly for 6 1/2 minutes. Test in the cold water for the soft ball stage, but the time doesn’t vary much. Take off the stove and add 2 tablespoons of butter and 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter. Have these things ready before you start cooking the milk and sugar. As the peanut butter and butter are melting, add 1 tsp. of vanilla. When all melted, pour into buttered dish. You need to work fast so it doesn’t harden in the pan. Pour into a buttered glass pie plate. Yours looks great, except I don’t care for the chunky peanut butter. For many years, I have sent my brother a batch of peanut butter and chocolate fudge for his birthday and Christmas. He said my last batch was the best ever!

I make mine very similar, and don’t use a candy thermometer either. I also do the cold bath test. However, I use whole milk and a 1/2 stick of butter with the sugar. I bring to boil and the first boil the bubbles are big and loose but as it cooks and gets closer to being ready the bubbles tighten and get smaller. About 7-10 min perhaps 12 minutes...depending on the weather. Then I do a water test looking for a soft ball stage. Once I have that I turn off heat, add vanilla, stir, add peanut butter and mix. I also use parchment paper instead of a buttered pan, but 1st spray my pan with non stick cooking spray to hold parchment paper down in pan. Pour in the fudge quickly and let cool and set. When fudge has cooled and ready to cut, I lift the parchment paper and fudge completely out of the pan, making is easier to slice so no worries about messing up the first piece. I can never wait til it’s completely cooled either. Too yummy creamy good to wait.

My Mom made this recipe and it is a very good recipe. I like one other of the responders have a bad back and it is hard for me to stand that long. Have you tried the easy fudge recipe? The one I use now is 1 cup of butter, 1cup peanut butter. I tsp of vanilla and two cups confectioners sugar. I melt the butter and peanut butter in the microwave. Remove and add 1 tsp vanilla and then add two cups of confectioners sugar or one box. You then pour it into your 8x8 greased pan and I do refrigerate mine. Prep takes 5 min and ready to cut in an hour. No boiling or having to form soft balls and to me just as good. When my Mom was living and I was young, I really could care less about cooking, but now I have a love of it and she is gone now. Do you make old fashioned divinity? My Mom always made it for Christmas and for friends who lost family members who have lost loved ones. I would love to learn how to make this. Thanks for opening up your home and sharing your wonderful recipes.

Sandra Shoemake thank you so much for your comment and your wonderful recipe. I think I will give it a try. I just always made fudge the old-fashioned way. I am not a Divinity maker however my younger brother makes Divinity every Christmas. It's really delicious. I'm sorry to hear you have a bad back I know that is tough. I have had back problems off and on myself. It's good that you are carrying on some of the traditions of your mom. It's funny how when we're young we are not very interested in certain things but when we grow older we realize the value in them. Thanks for watching and sharing and I hope you have a blessed day.

I make the best Divinity you could ever taste I also have a peppermint Divinity that's really good I started with my grandmother's Divinity recipe and then revised it. Maybe I can learn how to use U-tube to show how to make Divinity turn out perfect every time whether it's winter or summer cuz a lot of people have a hard time making it work at different temperatures of the weather. Also you don't have to have professional mixer, but in the past through trial and error I have ruined a few mixers LOL

This is the first time I've come across your channel! You are a wonderful cook! I love the way you cook the old fashioned way not needing thermometers or other gadgets to cook with! You remind me so much of my mother whom God took home 4 yrs ago! I so love the way you incorporate God and family in your blogs! You can tell your family means a lot along with the love you have for God and for them! Most people don't realize that the love you have for God an your family shows when cooking an making meals! Everyone should be thankful to be blessed, because without God we would have nothing... no family or anything else for that matter! I just wanted to say that I am so very glad I came across your blog! You are truly down to earth and you will go very far in everything you do and what you believe! ✨Blessed Always✨ Laurie💖LeStat🐈

I made peanut butter fudge tonight and I was curious how other people make it. You make it the same way as I do with the softball stage. Mine is a little different, I do use canned milk as you mentioned and I do not use butter, instead I put 1/4 cup light corn syrup at the end with the peanut butter and vanilla. Thank you for your video, so glad there are people out there that still do it the old-fashioned way! Carol from Arizona 🌵✌🏼

Yum. Reminds me of making a similar chocolate fudge with my grandmother in the early 70s... wish I had her recipe. She always poured it into aluminum pie tins for reasons I never understood, but makes me think of her every time I see one. Thanks for the memories !

Mulligan Farms you are very welcome. My mom used to make that chocolate fudge too with cocoa. Those were the days before they made chocolate fudge with marshmallow cream. I believe the recipe used to be on the Hershey‘s cocoa can. I don’t know if it still is. I think it’s not only fun but good to know how to make things the old way. Thanks for watching and as always thanks for commenting. Have a great day!
@jakematic6 жыл бұрын
Yes with cocoa that's right. Definitely no marshmallow, and I remember it has a bit of a grainy texture as it set up. Absolutely a good idea to know the old ways. Need to start working my way through my 1956 copy of Betty Crocker's Picture Cookbook. Just love the stories in it too.
