@@Polarcupcheck yeah. He also swims the 400 IM. US Swimming will have him swimming all of his events in Paris plus the 200 free.

@@jjh2456 400 IM and 400 free are both on the same day, also the 200 free semis and 1500 free heats were same day, then finals for both the next morning. Not a likely feat if the meet schedule is the same in Paris. Things had to get shifted around from the typical schedule with the additional distance events being added. Never say never, though.

Epic Olympic swimming week, Thanks for watch parties. I was always a Grant Hackett fan although my favorite miler was Bobby Hackett from 1976 as I grew up swimming in and around him in the NY metro area in the 1970's. Still the US 15-16 NAG holder @15:03.91 from Montreal. Cheers

I hope I don't come off negatively at times in the heat of the competition. Like most good coaches we can tell that you are "on the swimmers' side". Keep up the good work in the channel.

@@lajohnson1ly Jesse Vasallo's 15:31.03 13-14 yo NAG from 1976 was set one month before Hackett's. It is the oldest Nag although it almost got broken last week by the 14 yo kid form Pleasanton (15:32)

So Hackett is asked for his predictions at 2:22 - and he doesn't even mention Finke, who's coming off a spectacular 800 victory in the final lap, where from fifth place for most of the race, he chased down Paltrinieri, who was leading the whole way ..... HUH?!?

There are videos on KZbin from 2018 at the Nationals level of Finke having that same closing speed. He’s had it his entire career so if you follow swimming real close it isn’t that suspicious.

@FJLocHD Caeleb is a sprinter coached by Troy, Finke is coached by Anthony Nesti, an Olympic gold medalist and an amazing distance coach, I think he might be coaching Kieran Smith as well, but I’m not sure
