I agree with Grant. Before he said it I was watching this kid and the thought of a right hand Robinson struck me. Reinbacher looks like the real deal. Can't wait to see him in the rouge blanc et bleu.

Robinson? As in 2 time Norris trophy winning hall of famer Larry Robinson? If that is the comp it must be news to Hughes who said his upside was "a number 2 defenseman" and every team with the possible exception of Chicago that passed on him made the wrong pick.

@@rgood1204 Reinbacher was the best defenseman available in a very bad defenseman 2023 draft year, but was he the best player available at 5th ??? Montreal needed a right-D so they went for needs. Had he been a leftie, they would have likely passed on him. Since then, the Canadiens along with their media friends have been trying to sell him as a futur top line defenseman; and now, as a Larry Robinson when his own coach at the time, Jerry Fleming, compared his to just a Jeff Petry at the same age...Time will tell how Reinbacher turns out, lets give him a chance...but please, stop hyping this kid who is having an average season !!!

This philosophy is called “Drafting by Organizational Needs” It’s exactly the philosophy that led the Habs to draft KK instead of Brady Tkachuk. IRONICALLY ENOUGH… I see so many people who SHAT on Bergevin for that draft mistake Yet will now say stuff like “We need to draft a FORWARD we have too many DEFENCEMEN 😩” The irony is mind-blowing

I had him 2nd overall in my projections last year. Now I have him at #10. Character issues. Laziness issues. Purely a shooter, unable to feed his teammates. And that Draft Class is just WAY. TOO strong at the Top to gamble on Eiserman if he doesn’t get his shit together.

Demidov did his performance in the MHL. A lot of scouts believes that the MHL is not a great junior league. Weaker than the Q. Thats need to be considered.

It’s not about the league lmao… It’s about the skill of the player and how their game will translate to the NHL… The Q is a very weak league, But Crosby came from the Q, MacKinnon came from the Q, Huberdeau, Marchand, PLD All came from the Q lol and many more… The NTDP and USHL are not as good as WHL or OHL and the NTDP and USHL has produced some of the best players like Adam Fantilli, Jack Hughes, Cole Caufield, Trevor Zegras, Auston Matthews, Quinn Hughes, The list goes on… Just because Demidov is playing In the MHL does not mean he is not as good as he is right now.. You look at the player, You look at their game. Watch how they skate with the puck, Watch Their playmaking, Watch their Two Way game, Watch their physicality, their shot, IQ the list goes on you have to watch the player and come to a conclusion on how their games will translate to the NHL and everything I have seen up to this point is a dominant player who’s game will translate well to the NHL. Demidov does EVERYTHING you expect an NHL superstar to do… Cale Makar played in the AJHL which is not an amazing league it’s actually not great at all and he’s a generational Dman 😂😂… Saying Demidovs play needs to be “considered” because he’s playing in the MHL is a WEAK argument, Absolute nonsense… His play is very translatable to the NHL and he’s going to be a special player…. It does not matter what league you play in when you can handle the puck like Demidov you are going to thrive in the NHL for sure! Mcdavid, Makar, Jack Hughes, Quinn Hughes, Draisaitl, MacKinnon, Crosby etc the list goes on are all players who handle the puck like it’s nothing special lol and Demidov does that as well and his competitiveness will only further improve his game… This kid is going to be special and thinking otherwise because he plays in the MHL is absolutely hilarious 😂🤦🏼‍♂️… We shall see how much Demidovs game should have been “considered” when he’s a superstar in the NHL….

Montreal would have been better off drafting Leonard in 2023 and a defenseman in 2024. Nevertheless, they need to draft at the 2024 entry draft a 1C or a top 6 power forward, but none of them will be available to them. Likely guys like Catton, Connelly or Helenius might still be there to Montreal but they are "smallish" players. Basically, they need a Cayden Lindstrom but he will surely be gone by the time Montreal makes their pick. However, if they go for the best player available, then it might be another defenseman...time will tell !!!

I have a very good feeling it doesn't matter who we draft he will be the next Gretzky. A little update on this kid people have been raving about he will get better with age. Slakovsky MINUS 9 in his last 5 hmm seems like he is getting better,,,,,3 points ALL on the powerplay so ZERO points 5 on 5 LMAO yep he's getting better as time moves on. There is a reason our best prospects were picked lower than top 10>>> Cole and Hutson.BOTH are small both play small and both are one dimensional players .BTW Hutson has been his teams worst minus pretty much all year not only worse but on a team that only had 1-2 other minus players. Reinbacher has the same flaw Mailloux and Arber has he is slow of foot to get going.Sure on NA ice there is less room but quickness still matters because there are rebounds and loose pucks that require split second reactions.It is the same reason I cringe watching D.Savard he is slow as molasses. Thing is NHL players don't yell over to guys like Reinbacher and say "hey dude I'll let you get going before I do anything" ..lol.
