Great channel, great content. I have 3 pairs of red wing iron rangers, 4 pairs of wolverine 1000 miles, countless Allen Edmonds (boots only), and 4 pairs of Beckett Simonons. The grant stone are much better and it took me 2 years to buy from them because I also love made in America. They boots are way more substantial and thicker leather than all of them. Since I purchased from grant stone it hard to justify anything other than bucks or whites honestly.

I had the same issues before my first GS purchase, I was planning on buying just 1 pair and then finding their flaws, shit talking them on Reddit and going back to American made boots, that turned into 9 pairs and me telling anyone that will listen how great they are, so my plan apparently sucked. You have a pretty sizable collection of boots, would you rank GS at the top?

They are but I have an attachment to my red wings iron rangers. If I had to choose one I’d go with the good ole USA even if it’s not the clear winner. But outs of the comment section I’d choose grant stone easily lol.

I purchased 2 pairs from Grant Stone and I’m extremely satisfied. I will strongly suggest going down a full size. One of my pairs is a Chelsey style boot and on those I had to go down 2 full sizes and EE and they fit perfect. The customer service was amazing too. I will buy more from them guaranteed.

I followed the advice of you and many others and went a full size down. It didn't work for me. In the Leo last and whatever the Brass boot is, it's only a half size down for me and my normal width. 10.5D, same as I am in Iron Rangers, White's, 1000 Mile, and Thorogood. Just FYI.

@@InGrindWeCrust2010 Everyones feet are different. I wear size 13 on sneakers and 11.5E on the Brass boot and 11E on the Chelseys. I’ve purchased 16 pairs of Grant Stones in total. I’m into Truman Boots now and their exotic leathers. I’m size 12D on those. See brands and feet are all different you just have to find your sweet spot. I’m glad you went with Grant Stone, great boots and awesome quality for the money.

Great video, love my couple pairs of GS, in my mind they are one of the best bootmakers in the price range! Just picked up the leather sole saddle veg tan Diesel boots and wearing them for the first time today and they are the most comfortable boots I currently own!

Can you talk a little about the differences between the Edward and the Diesel : fit, and look etc. Can you also talk about the feel of the kangaroo leather on the Edwards and show some macro shots of it?

Aussie here. We eat Kangaroo sometimes you can buy it at the supermarket. Most of the meat however ends up in dog food after culling large numbers. Most of the roos where I live aren't aggressive and will bolt at the first hint of a human.

Whenever I think of Kangaroos I think of those Myostatin deficient, yoked up Kangaroos that look like an entirely different species of critter. Right now I am reveling in the thought that my tiny channel has reached Australia, which coincidentally is the only country that legitimately terrifies me. I went there a little over 30 years ago (up by Darwin) and while I didn’t see any Kangaroos I saw way to many Crocodiles, snakes and spiders to make me feel comfortable. I don’t think I slept for the first 3 days.

I have the Ottawa in Crimson CXL and it's the best boot that I have. I have 3 paris of thursday's, a pair of Beckett Simonon, and a pair of Grant Stone. My grail boot is a Honey shell cordovan Ottawa's. It's the best boot that I have. Their build is better than Alden and AE's for real. The Ottawa is the best boot in it's price range. Thanks for your video.

Grant Stone's would cost $650 if they were made is America. Similar quality to Viberg, and slightly better quality than Alden. Leo last is close to the Barrie last, fits the foot well. I tend to like 270 welts a little better, so that's my only slight issue with Grant Stone. I still don't like the brass boot, it just has bad proportions compared to an Indy boot or an 875, but it's still made well. My current favorites are my Edwards in waxed tobacco.

Thank you I recently had it waxed. Remember there is no such thing as too many boots, just too few feet. How do you like the Roughnecks? I have been considering them for a bit, but sizing is always an issue.

@@theknowsbros8344 I really like them a lot. The leather is very soft and supple right out of the box. I had to return the first pair due to sizing issues. The fellow on the phone at Redwing had told me that the moc toe was roomier than the Iron Rangers so I should size down by one half. He was very wrong. I wear a size 8.5 D in the IR and I went with his recommended 8 D and it was horribly tight. The second guy I talked to at RW said that actually the moc toes are very skinny compared to the IR's so he recommended an 8.5 EE or a 9 D. I went with the 8.5 EE and they are fine, perhaps a tiny bit roomy but not loose. The 8.5 D in the IR are comfortably snug so any skinnier would have been too much. I would recommend grabbing a pair when you can. They are generally in stock now but I waited over a year and a half for these to come available again when I ordered them last November. When they have to curtail production, these are some of the first on the chopping block. My boot budget is being pushed aside by my current saving for new PC budget. Shooting for a 4090 rig and a new 4K oled monitor so the boots got to wait.
